Me neither. I mean, look at the second post in the thread.

I don't think the question was ever the talent, it was the uncertainty of whether he could stay on the floor. It's been like 5 games, I think after 5 games of Zion playing well everyone was nutting all over themselves as well. and now after 5 games of his team losing, everyone jumped off the train. the bball card market is an emotional roller coaster. I sold off most of my holdings in MPJ but would like to see him play well, Denver is going to be a tough out in the playoffs

For real, congrats guys.
I sold off most everything and laughed at the prices I got for silvers and autos.
At least I've got a stack of BASS!

What a time to be alive...

I don’t deny that it’s absurd. Everything right now is. But that said, given the current environment it doesn’t seem crazy. MPJ almost certainly would have been #1 pick if it wasn’t for his injury. This guy can do it all, and his shot is great. He’s got a ton of upside. Just wish my bulls took him...

Watch out if the Essentials Blue 68/99 makes its way back to COMC without a note on damage. Arrived yesterday with a huge U shaped impression and multiple deep roller marks on the rear. So disappointing.

I agree that is dumb but what are you gonna do? If he plays a whole season like this next year then i think it would be valid. But i will say i think Denver looks like the best team right now. If they win it all and he's an important piece it will go a long ways. He is the X factor for them right now. I had DEN as my preseason pick to win it all and they're coming together at the right time even though they threw the game yesterday vs LA. I think they would have won if they played their starters in the 4th quarter. LA had all they could do to beat DEN bench.

It's the difference of being on a terrible team and being on a legitimate title contender. I like Trae too but they're a long ways away from competing. DEN has every position covered with good players. I would be terrified of facing them in the playoffs if i were the Lakers. The Clippers stand a better chance because they're a great defensive team. But i don't think anyone is more well rounded than DEN right now. They're well rounded like the C's but better because they have the size that the Celtics are missing.

Yeah it is. If a psa 10 blue prizm MPJ is at 4800 than Trae is severely undervalued imo.

Why? MPJ essentially has Trae range but is 6'10, isn't a sieve on defense, and is possibly the 2nd best player on a top-3 team in the West. Trae may be the best player on his team, but he hasn't been able to lead them to wins yet, and his defensive handicap is possibly going to be a major hindrance to those W's.

MPJ hasn’t been a leader at all. He’s hardly even in at the end of games. I just think people get hung up on the potential when Trae has put up numbers. Don’t get me wrong tho I definitely want to see MPJ do well but his defense isn’t the greatest either.

You realize you’re talking about a rookie who averaged 14 minutes a game before the bubble?

Because trae has been putting up 30 and 10 all season. MPJ has 4 good games in the bubble and now his cards are at the same values as Traes?

It also took a year for traes cards to be where they are at and MPJ a week.

Like I said it’s dumb.

Right. And selling for the same amount as someone who has actually put up numbers all season.

I understand your point, but you know the hobby is in a very different place than it was a year ago. MPJ prices are absolutely justifiable. I actually thought some of his mid/low-end looked cheap so I've been a buyer on some copies.

Trae hasn’t played since March. MPJ is finally getting a chance to show what he’s got, and he’s tearing it up. He’s on a top 3 team in the West. An actual title contender. Trae is on a team that isn’t any better today than they were before they drafted him.

Also, what MPJ cards are selling the same as Trae? Certainly not what I’ve been buying.

I disagree. The reason his prices were where they were is not that he was some undiscovered gem. It's because he looks like he's made out of glass. Everything is just so recency biased and with completely disregard for the long term that those concerns have been thrown out the window. His lower body is still extremely weak imo, every time there is contact between him and someone else he goes flying. The talent is there but I still have those reservations about his health. Then again, I'm a mid to long term holder and not a bass flipper
