That’s a pure gamble. If I wanted that, why wouldn’t I just bet on the games themselves?

Cards are to collect and for long term plays on the hobby and player. If you bought Burrow in August thinking they would win the SB, you better hope for a massive SB win and bump because you are almost certainly well underwater right now. If you just put money on the Bengals in the preseason, you’re sitting pretty right now.

People are buying Burrow right now. I got my Burrow about 2 months ago for around $1500… just sold it on COMC for $3200. Might have been able to get more elsewhere, but I love the instant deal of COMC with no hassles on high end cards. I love Burrow and wish I still had it, but it’s tough to turn down that kind of profit. I’ve got money on them to win the Super Bowl, so I’m still in the game

If Burrow gets to a second straight SB it’s safe to say he’s surpassed Allen as the second best QB in the league. Obviously the hobby won’t recognize anything until he wins, but for me his prices should be above Allen’s. If he beats Mahomes a second straight AFC title game and ups his record to 4-0 against Patty AND wins the SB, it will def put Burrow very close to being the best QB in the NFL. Without an MVP it’s easy to put Mahomes there, but head to head, Burrow owns Mahomes.

Hobby wise may not reflect it, but Joe's already better than Allen, at least IMO. His tendencies to hold on to the ball- which was critical has been fixed. NextGen ranks him with the 2nd quickest release, iirc.

I don't think Burrow will ever be a stat monster like Mahomes, different system and player. JB will give you 500, 400 yards from time to time but it seems like his precision/accuracy and how he handles pressure in the pocket will be his bread and butter.

Picked up a field level CSG 9.5 for less than $20, I know it’s CSG but I figured might as well, at least it’s encased……

I agree. I think he’s content being an Aikman type QB as far as going for efficiency vs accumulating.
I feel like he’d rather have 2-3 SB rings with less tats versus tons of stats ala Rodgers, Allen and Mahomes and only 1 ring.

Um..have you guys looked at his stats?? He’s putting up monster numbers. Aikman threw more than 20 TDs once in his career (23) lol. Burrow has 34 and 35 the last two years.

My only reference to Aikman was that he wasn’t a great QB who threw for 450 and 500 yds every time he went out like Mahomes. Burrow had fantastic numbers no doubt, but he doesn’t have to throw for 400 to win.

Aikman didn’t have to. He had a HOF RB in Emmitt Smith who was scoring TDs

In Madden?

Don't know. Seems like slight hyperbole considering Mahomes eclipsed 400 (Burrow once) just twice this year and 500 exactly 0 times. 400 is definitely not the new norm for any qb in this modern era, else we'd be seeing the 6,000 yard milestone taken down with ease.

4,4xx yards does not place Burrow in 'wasn't a great QB' territory, either. That's top 5, in a year where Chase missed 5 games. I also don't think Chase has garnered Emmitt Smith levels of respect yet, either. Nevermind being on the same level as a current peer, Justin Jefferson.

Burrow is prsently the best player on their offense, which is something you could never really say for Aikman. So I'm not quite sure your comparison is apt in any way. Even if it is extremely premature for a 3rd year qb.

Last I checked Mahomes threw for over 5K yds and set the record. That’s my point.
2022:
Mahomes 308 yds per game
Burrow 279 yds per game

Mahomes out threw Burrow by 750 yds.
Mahomes can keep the records. Burrow was a ring.

Burrow already is the best quarterback in the league. All that's left is a Super Bowl win. An MVP should come in the next couple years. Burrow is what we thought Andrew Luck was. He's undefeated against Mahomes. It's clear Allen is behind him. And Herbert, while possessing more arm talent, is a full notch down. I only put Mahomes with Burrow.

You literally said Mahomes throws for 450 to 500 yards every time he goes out. That's like Andrew Tate levels of futbol de gringo hyperbole.

I think I get what you were trying to say, but you kind of went full send with the Jussie Smollett narration.

Patty is a statistical anomaly. But Aikman still isn't a good comp for Macaulay Culkin. We'll see how he concludes the year, and if he progresses/regresses heading into season 4.

Different era. Zero comparison. Compare to his contemporaries.

Let's not forget Burrow played 1 less game after the Buffalo cancelation. Burrow would have been second in yards and TDs. He is 3-0 against Mahomes in about a year.

These records are being broken with an extra game now being played.

Stop bringing up Aikman. Thanks.
Dont bring up anything pre-2010 or so.

Did it all on his own, huh? Guy needed his Defense to bail him out vs Baltimore.

Bet on the game and you either win or lose barring the rare push. Plus not everyone has a legal sports book. Bet on the cards and you still have value if you lose. It's the poor man's stock market.

Who said he did it on his own? It's a team sport. Many people act like Brady always did it on his own; he didn't. But that was never my point. Here's what I'm saying. Burrow is taking over and is the new best quarterback. Now I don't think the Bengals can beat the Eagles or 9ers, but they will win one in the next year or two with Burrow.

Best quarterback but worse in virtually every category than Mahomes. Makes sense.

edit. My bad. Thought this was the Championship Round discussion thread. Continue with your Burrow love.

So Mahomes does it all on his own? I didn’t realize he catches his own passes.

I love Joe Burrow's social awareness and willing to speak out.
He's the Jim Brown of our era.

Not sure who’s worse: Trout or Mahomes defenders

3 - 0 versus Mahomes. Soon to be 4 - 0. An increase in value on that nice Mahomes will have to wait.
