Don’t think I’ve ever seen this one faked. Only difference I’ve heard of is the foil color that denotes pack pulled or a replacement copy.

By the way, this card has been on a massive slide like a lot of others. Saw a PSA 9 just sold for $6.7. Good time to buy it if you have the cash.

I bought a Kobe 1996 Finest refractor on Facebook. Shipped from Australia. Looked legit in pictures and honestly, it’s difficult to tell it is fake in pictures. But comparing this in hand to my base non refractor, it is super obvious the card is fake as the picture and text clarity and sharpness are much worse on the fake. Colors also are much brighter but washed on the fake. Also holding it, feels like photo paper and doesn’t feel like a trading card. Haven’t seen a fake of this as good as this and one that refracts…

Other clues that it is fake:
-indentation is way off on the outer letterings - see APPRENTICES
-on the front, BRYANT should also refract and change colors, but does not refract well on the fake
-the fake is literally photo paper and not chrome stock, feels cheap and is extremely thin

Any more experienced people know what is going on with this Blue Kevin Garnett EX-2000 E-Xceptional Blue 97/250? The card is hand numbered in sharpie, which is an obvious red flag. Been looking to get the Blue for a while but this does not seem legit. Back door copy?

Could be a replacement copy. That being said, Fleer almost always serial stamped their replacements. It also doesn't match any of the hand numbering style I've seen from Fleer (which in general was pretty consistent)

That being said, Upper Deck had a tendency to hand number their replacement cards, and quality control was so lax back then I guess anything is possible.

I messaged the seller, they claimed it was a replacement for a damaged card. So I guess that is consistent with what might be happening here. Not 100% ideal, but might be a way to snag it at a lower cost.
