Regardless if their are autos or not. Hayward needed his 07 BCD bass. Not his 08 Chrome auto which sold like a turd once it came out. As did everyone else from that class

I'm not following this. I wasn't talking about 2nds, 3rds, 4ths. If a player has ONE 1st chrome and ONE 1st auto, why does it matter if one is in Bowman and one is in Bowman Draft? Are you saying Heyward's auto lost value because it didn't come out at the same time as his base?

Ky Bush isn’t on the auto checklist, but has an auto up on eBay. Maybe there’s a (very) small chance the checklist needs updating after all? Trying to stay optimistic haha

I’m the beginning, Heyward, Laporta, Mous, Bumgarner, Price, all their autos suffered. Up until around 2010 when the mantra “auto above 1st bass” became a thing.

And yes that scenario is different than Wander having another bass in 2021 Draft but it’s a continuation of Topps pushing the envelope with what has been accepted. If folks rejected 2nd year cards (or just 2nd cards going from Bowman Chrome to Bowman Chrome Draft) early on and stuck with it, we wouldn’t see this crap happening. But the word #value drives hype, and potential resale value, pre-order prices, and thus breaker return. Albeit completely diluting and confusing the market with junk that doesn’t need to be made.

I think "1st" autos that come out after the 1st chrome base generally hold their value (See 2020 Bowman Brennen Davis Auto). For the reverse scenario, I feel like the "1st" chrome base loses a lot of value.

In my opinion, just missing the "1st" on chrome bases hurts the value (even if it was a mistake). IIRC in 2020 Bowman Chrome, Francisco Alvarez had both his 1st auto and base (#BCP-198); however, only the autos had 1st on the card. I feel like his 1st chrome base is undervalued because of that.

How many cards on average per player come in a Houdini 10 caser? Can't tell if these prices for bass cards are as crazy as I think

35-40 bass cards and 10-11 bass refractors + whatever color refractors you get (1, maybe 2).
