Looks like at least a Hulk exists of that too (perhaps even a spiderman as well). Guessing you're right, either prototype or else they made first few of the run colorized.

Also, comment on kickstarter page about the Spiderman gold being sent as a voucher (then once person gets it, can arrange for a secure later shipping of it). This would make sense and also means it doesnt have to have an insurance/sig after all if just a voucher. (So there's hope yet...)

It sounds like FPG is digging deep and/or scrapping the bottom of the barrel to get everyone an extra bonus goodie if they're mailing out proofs or prototypes.

Would it be so hard for someone at FPG to post a quick update explaining what's being sent out?

Also, has anyone from Tier 2 received their package yet? I'm very curious to see whether Tier 2 backers will get the metal Hulk card plus both the Spider-Man and Psylocke bronze cards promised as part a Tier 2 pledge AND another extra bonus goodie.

There is a comment on the Kickstarter page from a tier 2 backer that got only a Spider-Man bronze (plus a Hulk metal). I’m starting to think the pledge rewards and lotto extras were all just combined into one thing, “extras”. Where each backer gets a metal hulk + an extra. But that’s not what the campaign said, and at least one person is already commenting on that in the comments.

It was said 90% were going to have a tracking number in shipment by this past weekend, but from the sound of it a large chunk still have either no survey or in preshipment. Most of the tier 2 and OA backers, as well as international tier 1 hasn’t shipped it sounds like.

I'm seeing on Facebook people getting packages without any email or tracking info being sent. I believe there's a comment on the KS page about that too.

Better start checking my PO Box. What a mess.

The Facebook group had a post yesterday from FPG indicating that they would have a summary soon. Of course, with everything else about this campaign aside from the OA being a clusterf**k, why not just watch this trainwreck like the spectacle it is?

You actually got one of the pre-press cards that needed approval before going to mint. Congratulations! Very rare card! (“PR-4 stands for the fourth card in for approval”)"

I read that as "Oops, that should have never gone out."

Got the Hulk 164/2000 and the Psylocke (uncolorized) bronze, numbered 477 on the side.
I'm good.

I liked the Dr. Strange sticker on the bonus pack.

Good luck to those yet to receive theirs.

Nice one on the Psylocke, I think that’s my fav of the ones that translated to bronze.

Good to hear more people are starting to get their packages in.

That's actually cool they did that -- someone got a very unique version.

My tracking number has updated from pre-shipment label created to moving through network. It's supposed to arrive on Saturday. Shipping from Pittsburgh. The label was created on April 5 and accepted at a USPS facility on April 9. I'm Tier 2.

My guess is a ton of labels were printed at the same time and FPG is slowly slapping them on packages and getting those packages to the post office. Or FPG is waiting until a ton of packages are labeled and ready for shipping before dropping them off at the post office or having them picked up.

Very nice. My pre-shipment was April 6, so maybe that means I'll get some movement in a day or two.

Well hopefully it'll be a bronze Spidey + bronze Psylocke + possible extras, but we'll see I guess!

Do we think they are mailing out by Tier? Have any OA tier backers received their packages yet?

FPG just posted this to the main comments section:

Quote:
SORRY FOR THE DELAY IN REPLYING! WE ARE SWAMPED. Please see answers below.

We will be posting a total of all extra cards available. For everyone that asked. The GOLD SPIDER-MAN will come first as a redemption card. It is literally $14,000 of solid gold so obviously we did not want to risk it floating out there. Also ALL 45 (15 of each of the three different cards, Spidey, Hulk and Psylocke) of the SOLID SILVER cards have redemption cards as well for the same reason.
So no silver cards or the gold Spidey card have been seen yet.

Im pretty sure they're working up the tiers. Lots of tier 1s got package so far....some tier 2s are just starting to get theirs.

I can confirm out of the 2 OA pledges I know of- neither got the extras package yet. Round 2 OA didnt even get a tracking number so far.

Huge LOL to the eBay seller that has the bronze Hulk up on eBay for $20k. No offense, derrico13customs, if you are on these forums. But come on, even with best offer it's just dumb.

I have yet to see one. Someone posted there's 6 different zombie colors, 100 of each. Dont know if that's legit though, as 600 would be a ton and 1 in every 3 backers getting a zombie psylocke (I thought the count was 600 bronze psylockes period).

Anyway all these various things- bronze, metals, colors, proofs, zombies, silvers, etc. Got me thinking...if someone was going to collect these extras, what would a reasonable and practical 'master set' be? I know it'll help once they post a full list...but Idk, it's kind of overwhelming. Thinking maybe like the Hulk metal, one of each bronze, one proof of whichever they did it for, one zombie, maybe 1 hulk colored 1/1. Not the gold obviously (unless luckily getting it). Probably not the colored spidey bronze due to cost being /10ish. Probably not one of each silver (spot value is a doable ~$150 but Im guessing the market value will be far higher with them being /15 and the silver novelty). Not sure how many are even collecting the extras vs just selling them for a hefty profit though (Im planning on collecting being a MM guy).

What are estimates on the market value of the Spidey gold 1/1? I think they estimated spot worth to be ~$13k in gold. How much of a premium does being a 1/1 spidey from this project add to that? Would it be a lot more? Closer to that spot value? Im giving it a maybe a 75/25 chance in favor of we ever see it surfacing. And if we do, it's probably because it's being offered for sale somewhere.

It's likely a 5oz bar, and they're adding in some premium like most "art" bars would get tacked on. As far as value on the open market? That's a great question. In the bullion world there's not a huge market for collectable 5oz gold bars. Even desirable stuff like PAMP and Englehard only have a modest premium over spot. Most people buying gold bullion want it as cheap as possible.

So, question is how crazy can a Spidey/Marvel Masterpieces collector get?

Oh absolutely I agree, that makes sense from the bullion side of things (which let's not kid ourselves is not the audience for this).

My guess, going off nothing more than speculation: a lot more than $13k. Reasoning is because it's essentially "the" center piece of this large scale project, essentially symbolizing it. It's also spidey and some major spidey collectors out there. Finally, mere /10 green PMGs from marvel retro (no bullion value whatsoever) have went well north of $100k, granted in a stronger market a few years ago.

Brings up an interesting point though...those super high PMG sales etc were from a UD released Marvel retro set. This is a more an independent narrow release being through kickstarter (although they do appear to be fully licensed by Marvel)...I just wonder if people will consider it as mainstream as the regular sets. I do..just wondering about the larger market (people who were never backers or involved).

My guess is still a lot more than spot value on it.

It really is interesting to think about. It's not a mainstream card release like you said, but its still from a what is now infamous, even controversial release that collectors in this sphere are well aware of.

If the recipient is savvy enough it'll be a private sale. I'd be gobsmacked if this thing ends up as a .99 cent auction.

I’d say the Spidey gold should definitely change hands via private sale or be consigned to Heritage Auctions. eBay is the absolute last place to be selling a gold trading card.

I really doubt many people are going to be collecting these extra cards. For one thing, outside of backers, how many people even know they exist?
