I was watching Fiers's pitch count at 80 at the end of the sixth, was hoping he would get to the eighth and avoid the middle relievers that are suspect. How about McCutch's HR in the 9th!? He must have fouled off six pitches - stud at bat there.

I thought McCutchen's at bat was the at bat of the year, at least that I've seen in a Brewers game this season. The pitches he fouled off were really good pitches and the ball he hit for a HR wasn't even a strike. Big time respect for him.

Thought some of you prospect guys might like to see these, the Brewers High-A affiliate is auctioning off the players signed game worn jerseys and they end this Friday. Some big names in there with Roache, Tyrone Taylor, Arcia, Wagner, Lopez, Wei-Chung Wang

Put a fork in this team their done. 6 losses in a row out of 1st place. I hope they have a huge collapse. That way they can get rid of the GM and manager and bring in guys who know what they are doing.

They lead 90% of the year, go watch your Packers. The real fans will stick it out.

Painful to watch at the minute, though fortunately I've only seen one of the 6 losses, albeit it was the 15 run debacle in SF. Still enough time to right the ship but they're obviously trending badly in the wrong direction. If we don't make it, I hope the Pirates can pass the stinkin' Redbirds!

So after tonight is it fair to proclaim the season over? Or must we wait until we are swept by the Cardinals this weekend? Hey at least now that they are stinking it up I might be able to pick up some cheap tickets!

Wow, I can't believe how the Brewers have fallen. I'm from Missouri but I can't stand the Cardinals, or most of their fans for that matter. It doesn't help matters when the Cubs and Pirates are just rolling over and losing games to the Cards that they should be winning. Like the last poster said - I fully expect the Brewers to be swept by the Cards this weekend. They just seem to be intimidated when they play the Cards. Dang -I was hoping for pay back for 2011.

Haha, yea this last week has sucked donkey balls but they are still a playoff team (barely).
We know this is a streaky team and I bet they got one more hot stretch in them. |

Tragic news about the passing of Scouting Director, Bruce Seid. Just 53. Puts the Brewers woeful run of form in some perspective.
RIP. |

Very sad news about Bruce Seid. He's been on the FSWI broadcast a few times. I read Braun and his wife had a baby so he'll be out a few games.

Roenicke is a fine coach, your just another fan overreacting because they are on a losing streak. Based on your logic every coach should be fired at some point in time during the season.

and Yost was bad and Macha was bad and so on and so on. Melvin by GM standards is considered one of the best. 95% of Brewers fans have zero knowledge about baseball, you are one of them. You rarely posted when they would win or be on a great streak, only when they go on a losing streak do you post. No one gets fired, I guarantee you that. This team lead the division for almost 90% of the year. That's one hell of a run and as a Brewers fan who watched them lose almost every year in the 90's, Ill take it.

Are you serious Clark? I'm pretty sure those are the only 2 guys whose jobs are guaranteed for next year.

Word of the wise to all Major Leagues out there: Be careful what you say about your former team, because they may remember that.
Matt Garza has said some things about the Cubs and tonight's line speaks for itself. |

It's only a short term thing. Cubs are getting better and are slowly improving. He could say whatever he wants, but I think if not now, then in the future, his comments won't look so bright.

But last place is. We're looking at a team with high expectations in the coming years that is set to turn it around.

I preface this as I'm not trying to bag on our team when we're down but there's something about Garza and Gallardo that irritates me. Garza's comments to Samardzija pitching his way out of town, well Garza pitched his way out of town and now he's pitching us out of a pennant race. These two should have treated the Cubs series like a playoff series - it matters. Lack of fire. We saw what the Cubs are capable of the last time we were here a few weeks ago. Frustrating.
