Very nice! You are right, the SS labels/holders are (to me) the best in the hobby (along with the CGC Pristine label). The DC labels are recent, and CGC says they will only be around for a limited time (how long?). I'd love to get some reholders done, but at $10 for the reholder, then $8 for the DC label, plus shipping, probably not gonna do that.

The reason I ask is because this 12-card sub did go to Quality Check/Finalization a few days ago and now is BACK to GEI. So that seems like it’s making retro-progress. I called CGC today and he kinda thought it looked like a glitch but said this happens sometimes when they are changing around statuses. So who knows. Maybe the quality check turned up something.
I don't think I've had any orders regress, but I did notice something - if you download the submission detail at different points in the progress, there will sometimes be different statuses listed in the Excel file than what the web page indicates, and some are statuses that aren't part of the standard set of Received, SFG, GEI, G/QC, QC/F, Shipped. I can't remember what they were, but they weren't any of those.

Anyway, I'm thinking maybe they caught some debris in a holder or a label error or something like that?

I will say…I really like CGC’s slabs etc…I have lately found myself giving them more and more of my business- just sent a bulk shipment of nearly 100 cards last month.
Same. I grade for PC only and always graded with BGS (especially loved the 10/10/10 deal), but they just kept getting slower and slower and CS was terrible, so I was excited when CSG announced they were doing cards. I was probably one of their first 100 submissions and have subbed exclusively with them since. I love the holders, and if they had started with the labels they have now, I think they'd have a much bigger share of the market.

But I swear basically every single time there is always something going on with my subs, resulting in me calling into customer service and inquiring about things. Whether about some delivery issue, sub status issue, signer issue with sig series…or something. Just never seems to go that smoothly with them. Things do get here in the end though.
I've only had one or two submission issues, so not too bad. I've had to get probably a half dozen ME done for labelling accuracy, but other than that pretty smooth - knock on wood. Glad that in the end they seem to get it right though.

So wonderful that people are starting to discover for themselves how nice the CGC slabs are. I have used them regularly and if you have an express worthy card, $85 and 5 days cannot be matched.

Nice. I was hoping maybe they did the same custom label thing for Marvel but I guess not. Yea $18 is a bit steep for doing it on previously graded cards, but neat to take advantage of it on these while you can! Great looking cards.

Yep CGC does pretty well in nonsports and TCG…I wonder also if it would be accepted more in sports if they didn’t start with the different label and just started off with 10 = gem mint from the get go; which they always should have done. I also wonder if it would take some people to just hold a CGC slab in person just once to realize how nice they are, in order to convert them haha. But I get it that PSA 10’s have the prestige, and all the people set on the registries in PSA, they won’t be dethroned in sports anytime soon.

Agree about sig series and pristine labels being one thing setting CGC apart from some of the competition. The best is when they come together…did get one of these in that 10 card sub at least.

Hmm interesting about the status being called something different. Mine just changed *again* when I just checked it. So it went from GEI to Quality Control/Finalization, back to GEI, and now it is saying merely Grading/Quality control, without the encaps or imagine part. Sheesh. Wonder if these will ever get graded and figured out.

Well I jinxed it in a good way, since the sub just popped this afternoon.

And after all these days in quality check etc…3 of the 12 cards have their labels switched with each other when I brought up the pics on the cert lookup…d’oh! All that time for quality check, what are they doing I have to wonder…for such blatant errors to still get through.

Anyway…had to call CGC…he’s not sure if they shipped out or not yet but he thought it’s possible they already went out. In which case I guess I’d have to ship them back to CGC to get reholdered.

That sucks. I hope they had not shipped. What genre and grades?

Tracking says label printed, but in preshipment. I called the moment the grades popped (been checking it obsessively all day). Guess that may not be good enough, he seemed to be like "if they already shipped, they shipped" and I'd have to mail them back. They are marvel cards.

Not a checklist

Not an Iceman

Got some 10s among the others at least, happy with them

As it has been said, scheduled for grading is more of a place holder to charge your cards. With the boom, very infrequently does it move to the next level quick with economy.

My bulk order was logged as received the day before yours and still says "received". So that gives me hope that maybe it will get "scheduled for grading" soon.

So this means that they are already graded?

Just for reference what holiday shutdown are you referring to? Thanksgiving, or more in December?

Holy crap, my order is now actually moved to grading/Encapsulation/Imaging. Almost 4 months to the day from when they received them. I may actually see my cards again.

I should have edited that. I meant slowdown. It happens every year with every grading company. Sorry for the word error.

Was it a bulk order? What I have noticed for bulk, I don’t use that service anymore, is they hold it in grading for a while and the last week it usually flies. Also once you get the credit card acknowledgment the next day grades usually pop and shipped. .

I sent some cards to be reholdered with my last bulk order. They are now in grading/Encapsulation/Imaging. Hopefully they don't get into a proper slab and not the stupid bag again.

Bulk/JSA so that adds two weeks to the mix. These were given to CGC during the comic con which was held 5/17. At that time, turnaround for bulk was like 25 days or something. I was expecting a couple of months. This will likely bleed into 5 month territory by the time cards are back in hand.

Dang, CGC is up to 80 days on the bulk turnaround. I really should have gone with economy. Oh well. Next order will definitely be economy.

I have had some cards I wanted to send in, but was hoping the 80 day turn around would get lowered. It is pc stuff, so not sell sensitive. Just sending cards out now and not seeing them until Jan/Feb isn't fun.

I would not expect them to move to grading for another few days. From my experience, order moved fast the last 5 days of TAT and the TAT is not for-to/door but just finish the order. Add a few more days for shipping.

Yeah, just noting that the post I had quoted had his cards received 2 weeks after mine and his are done and both orders were economy

Gotcha! All grading companies should have a FIFO system in place.
