Man if he missed the rest of the season, or even a month, this would be potentially another MVP season he lost due to injuries.

2021 he had a MVP caliber season going

Where's the dongs though? Only 4 in all of July, 2 in August now(I think 2?)

He has 26. That’s plenty when you are hitting .340 and hitting for plenty of power.

I realize ASG voting resembles high school prom court voting to many but to call someone a surefire HOFer when the career is near completion and there is very little ASG starting nods to go with stat milestones, that may end up being just constant undermining of his resume even though he's first/2nd ballot HOFer when done. Starting ASG's is something that can comp between generations even if the voting is wonky like lots of media attention these days. The selections themselves, not the game, is still fairly important against their peers. In some ways because of the voting system differences, it's more difficult to accrue multiple starts without great production to back it up. Yes, there are always snubs but if you bring up Soto and his lack of despite playing more games than Ron and find things to excuse the difference in popularity, then that's a real factor, not something to automatically dismiss. There is HOFers were complete hitters that very loyal fans eternally but never wowed either. It goes both ways. Some fans like the highlight reel guys like Griffey and some like Tony Gwynn who I like a lot too. Plenty other players to pick and choose in this debate. I like to ruffle feathers sometimes by pointing out I'm indifferent to Pujols as great as he was. No doubt HOFer but not one I'm stopping to watch their career video either. That's sports fans. Soto may appear way more on the stat sheet than Ron but less video to grab your attention or stop what you're doing to show a friend 30 years from now.
