If I would have done more research beforehand I would probably have just cracked and subbed.
So actually true gem crossed at a higher rate than gem plus! It’s tough to crack a 9.5 or 9.5 plus and take the chance it comes back a PSA 9 (or raw if you set a min grade). I’d settle for 50% cross rate assuming it was the right 50% that crossed.

I'm closing in on four weeks in Research & ID myself. Was there any guess why yours was stuck in R&I for so long? Just bad luck? I had two cards that I couldn't find in the database so had to type them out. Did you have something similar?

I'm sitting at 2 weeks in R&ID myself. My guess is either bad luck (seems to be a lot of that going around at PSA these days) or you had one or more cards that didn't automatically populate when you filled out the submission form (and so they had to research it and get it in the system). In my case, I had 2 out of 8 cards that weren't already in the system.

My 264-card BULK order was logged on 02/24/2020 and has been in Research & ID ever since. I contacted PSA and was told:

"Bulk is averaging at 100+ days. That means that some orders will take longer than 100 and some will take less."

I am already at business day 100, so considering that they will need to grade, assemble, QA and QA2 264 cards, I would be surprised if I see my order this calendar year. Hopefully, you have better luck.

Got my grades! Was a learning experience for sure. I wanted to wait until I got the cards, but I randomly checked online and the grades popped up. I saw them and I definitely made some mistakes and had one HUGE surprise!

Order Type: Economy (15 vouchers)
# of cards: 15
Order received per USPS: 6/30
Order received per PSA: 7/29
Moved to Research & ID: 7/29
Moved to Grading: 7/31
Moved to Assembly: 8/1
Moved to QA Check 1:8/13
Moved to QA Check 2:8/14
Order popped:8/18

2 1 48685650 MINT 9 1988 Fleer 115 John Stockton
3 1 48685651 NEAR MINT 7 1988 Fleer 57 Reggie Miller

11 1 48685659 NEAR MINT 7 1980 Topps 482 Rickey Henderson
12 1 48685660 NEAR MINT-MINT 8 1982 Topps Traded 98T Cal Ripken Jr.
13 1 48685661 NEAR MINT-MINT 8 1984 Topps 8 Don Mattingly
14 1 48685662 GEM MINT 10 1984 Fleer Update U-93 Kirby Puckett
15 1 48685663 MINT 9 1991 Upper Deck SP1 Michael Jordan

First of all, I know some of the cards were a waste to get graded as economy. However, I wanted to see how cards were graded and learn from the experience. I bought the Kirby Puckett for $100 on ebay and I was scared that it was fake. It looked real to me and it had perfect centering. I mean perfect centering. I was disappointed in the Rodman's, I must have missed something on the PSA 6. There must be a surface issue on it. The Winfield and Henderson were disappointing as well. It is a learning experience and now I will be better prepared for my next submission.

BTW, did I mention that I got a PSA 10 Fleer Update Puckett rookie that I bought raw off of ebay

Assuming you have more than just one card to look at, I look for bottom and right side border being roughly the same. Then after looking at enough 2019 Topps, the thicker or thinner border cards stand out (I mean ones where both borders are the same thickness, and are both too thick, or both too thin). Then, the off-center-in-one-direction cards like this one really start to stand out.

I had not attempted to actually measure the centering on these, but graders reference the Topps logo at the upper left. I just measured these two...it's roughly 2.5mm from the topps logo to the top border. The white border at the bottom is also about 2.5mm. On the right, it's about 3.5mm at the top (topps logo to edge) and the bottom border is only about 1.5mm.

The left border is wider on the 10 than the left border on the 9. (see the space next to the 'G' in 'Guerrero'). They might both be 55/45 side to side...close enough for PSA-10 standards, but the one on the right is clearly off center top/bottom and it's too far OC for a 10.

I only had a handful of cards without the proper "tags" in their system (maybe 5-6). The rest were cards they have graded a ton before.

I kinda expected the wait. This sub (along with 3 other bulks) will be my Christmas present to myself in December. So, I think we're moving along that way. Not really surprised it took this long to get to grading.

Anyone have an order received earlier than 6/4 that has yet to be logged?

Good lord, that sucks. I know this isn't the "bitch about PSA" section - but my order "recieved" on January 6 (sent in Dec.) is in grading - and I don't believe it is actually IN grading, just out of research and ID. I've called 4 times with no return.

The appalling thing here is I don't mind the delay by itself. I don't mind the lack of customer service by itself. Together - it's really rough, especially as I see bulk orders from WAY later already back in submitter's hands.

Bulk orders SHOULD be graded as they were received. I think graders grab orders that feel easier first. Like 50 of the same card kind of thing. So mine sits.

And to know I'm going to get murdered on grades on top of that. It's a bit much.

Love graded cards, but I just....

I brought up that same issue (orders received after mine are already in grading) and this was their reply:

"I will say that orders are not exactly processed as first in first out. We try our best to do that, and we are making some changes to better process orders that way. Basically, some orders are easier to research, grade etc. Sometimes those orders can process much faster than a normal order. Also, sometimes orders can just fly through the process."

It honestly sounds like they are aware of many improvement opportunities, but for now, it is what it is.

You should call them. Seems like it should have been logged in by now. I have two value orders that haven't been logged yet. USPS shows delivered on 6/24 and 7/9.

There is no rhyme or reason to anything they are doing. I sent in a package that was received on 6/22 with 4 separate orders, free cc, economy, economy crossover, and ultra modern value.

The free cc and economy were logged on 7/20, the value was logged on 8/14, and the economy crossover has not been logged yet. Mind you these orders were all in the same package so they deliberately sorted to log at different times. My guess on my order is crossovers are the last thing they are logging right now.
