That's fine. There's nothing wrong with a short run, although I do think they owe it to him to be a little longer reign considering they did a major disservice to him with his first run. They should have brought him into WG by having Solo preventing him from winning the belt.

Guess you missed the Gunther/Sheamus/Drew feud. Nothing about that was anyone being an underdog.

Yeah, that entire storyline was focused on the Drew Sheamus relationship. Gunther was just there.

Gunther might be able to carry a match, but he can't carry a storyline.

Couple thoughts on last night's Smackdown:

Naomi's ring gear harkens back to when DX came out as parodies of the Nation of Domination and Jason Sensation came out dressed as Owen Hart covered in caution tape. It was ridiculous then and it's ridiculous now.

Got a feeling Randy Orton's WM match will be on Rusev Day.

The Hall of Fame starting at 1am EST was wild to me...

I know it's 10pm there and it's Vegas, but holy crap, no way I'm staying up til 3-4am to watch a HOF "ceremony".

And IDK, the whole lackluster card of WM has me thinking something big is going to happen...

Like, Cody's been in The Rock's pocket since earlier in the year and this is just all a ploy to get back at Cena for The Rock...

I know it's a huge reach, but it would allow Cody to keep the belt, allow him to turn heel (especially with crowds turning on him), Cena could turn back to a face for his final run, one more match between Rock and Cena and MAYBE Cena beats heel Cody for the championship at his last PLE in Boston...

And it still gives us, while briefly, the Cena heel turn we all wanted to see...

I'm waiting on the glass to break only for Austin to stun Cody to help Cena win. Talk about out of left field because nobody is expecting it. All the internet marks are so confident he's coming for Rock and we know how WWE loves to screw with the IWC and do exactly the opposite of what they think is going to happen.


Rock is beating Cody down and Austin's music hits, Austin hits the ring and we have the classic stare down with Austin/Rock. Then as Cody is trying to stand up he stumbles and bumps Austin which pisses him off and bam Stunner.

I don't understand the appeal of Cody as a face. He wears three piece suits all the time, looks like a ken doll, and has that stupid tatoo. He would be an amazing heel.

So this is essentially what happened with his run in AEW. He came out at the beginning of the company's run and said he would never challenge for the World Championship which tabled him.

Towards the end of his AEW run the fans were essentially sick of his "good guy" character and turned on him and boo'd him whenever possible though they would cheer him too. Plus his whole Nightmare Factory Faction and promos where he came off as better than everyone else didn't help, and he wouldn't turn Heel for some reason. That really was the end of his run in AEW and he knew he wanted to go back to WWE

I always assumed Cody did turn heel in AEW by saying that he wasnt a heel. I thought that was his way of turning, but maybe I was wrong.

Anyway, I would prefer Cody retain, because this Cena heel turn hasn't worked well IMO. The crowd last night booed Cody some but I dont think its to the point where they have to turn Cody. Plus never go by what the crowds around Mania time do because there's always alot of ppl from all over. Hell look at when those weirdos went crazy for Fandango at Mania

Cody being heel would make absolute zero sense with how over he is with kids, anyone face the smart fans just want to turn heel when in reality the overall betterment for the company is them being face. The funniest thing is you guys all got what you always asked for in the big company babyface turning heel….and a bunch still complained anyway lol can’t make the IWC happy so no point trying, it’s messed up AEW storylines/feuds trying to do just that when the fans will just find the next thing as soon as you remedy whatever complaint is out at that moment

Thought Stand and Deliver was good even though the Stacks heel turn could be seen 2 months ago. Oba, Trick, and Je'von stole the show as they should have being the Main Event. I was hoping Oba was going to drop the title which would be an indication of a post WM call up but guess they either don't have anything for him on the main roster or feel they need to see more from him.

My crazy ending to WM. Rock music hits near end of match he comes down makes it looks like he's going to help Cena win the match. Instead he screws Cena and helps Cody win. We get a McMahon/Austin ending were Cody and Rock shake hands in the ring and Cody is now Rock corporate champ.

Would they really have Jey beat Gunther in the opening match for the World Title? Do they think that little of both men and that prestigious belt with so much history ?

Jey wins everyone parties and by the end of the show everyone has forgotten about it until Monday night when Jey opens the show.

the opening match of WM could be the 2nd biggest match on the WM card. The night 2 of WM is always going to be the biggest match on the card but because the crowd is always hot for the opening of WM the 1st match is the match I would want if I am not main eventing night 2.
