He hasn't had time to see a lot of posts but that post made him laugh which is hard to do in Idaho.

I suspect this has something to do with Jeter's involvement.

I think this card with get 10 random signatures and they probably were trying to confirm listing.

Im just referencing the Baller card. Along with the chain Topps mentioned future releases having randomly inserted Jeter autos. Dont think weve seen one since so thinking this may be the next one.

If anyone in the OMA cult is interested, Oldmanalan posted his inspiration for his card on instagram. He does this with each of his cards now. I think it's pretty cool.

Checks out. This one works for me. Looking forward to getting this one in-hand. Maybe my favorite Mays and definitely my favorite OMA so far.

Funny to get inspiration for "New York Giants" from a "vintage" 1991 tee shirt, but it's a recurring theme with him.

Best photo he's picked so far, replacing one of the the worst original photos (maybe the worst) in the set, clean old-timey background, great colors, playful, etc. I'm personally pumped.

He also uses the term "reimagined" and not "recreated" when he does his card. He puts a picture of the original next to his new one. I know this is what annoys most of his haters, but he is doing it his way and his 20 card set will look great displayed, maybe with a few artist autos in there as well.

What annoys most of his haters are the really head-scratching cards he's put out with zero in common with the original and what looks like very little effort or aesthetic (IMO).

I'll pause on joining in the bashing for this card today, which shows much more effort than most, and doesn't have some wonky photo of mark mcgwire on some awkward in-between-inning non pose with a ridiculous saying on it "BASHERS" with poor crop and no logic.

The OMA McGwire card is actually wonderful. If you follow his twitter, it is pretty obvious that he is trolling his "bashers" with that one. He actually tweeted "it's much easier from the sidelines" right after the card was released. Is McGwire getting ready to roll the ball to the bashers??

If this is true, OMA is worse for this project than any of us are even suggesting (and that was suggested, I stated myself, maybe WE ARE THE BASHERS). Sorry/not sorry.

I think people here genuinely want artists best takes on classic cards, not to get into a trolling war with a participant.

Nuff said... and I still think today's card is great and hopefully a turning point in this silly topic.

no, they arent ugly at all. they are perfect Topps Archives commons, which sell for 25 cents a piece, not $20
