I think they have more problems than just missing Wiggins. They haven't looked right all year, regardless of who has been out there.

I'd love to see them turn it on once the playoffs start, but I don't anticipate it.

It's honestly absurd how free the profits have been betting against the Pacifists on the road this year.

Just imagine, if ownership didn’t cling so tight to the idea of having the “next generation” all lined up, we could have been the ones to deal for Sabonis

I hope so. I wouldn't mind a 40-30 Embiid/Harden beatdown

Phoenix is an underdog vs OKC today, with CP3 and Booker playing.

Quite the 'Superteam.'

I don't think the Pacers would have dealt. They had J.Smith lined up for the Wiseman role, without injury. And they wanted Haliburton (Hield almost came free with that). I mean, maybe Poole and Wiseman?

What asset did the Warriors had at the time of the trade that was as good as Haliburton?

I really can’t wait until your internet breaks down again in a few weeks. I have a feeling we won’t hear a lot from you after the annual Sixers implosion/choke job.

SGA is freakin awesome. If the Clippers never win a title with Kawhi and PG13, that trade is going to look REALLY bad in a few years, even if it was deal they had to make at that time. He scored 40 today without even attempting a 3-pointer - when was the last time that happened? I hope the Thunder’s young guys can continue to improve, because they have so much potential on that squad. I mean, is it that much of a stretch to to imagine a core of SGA, Giddey, Dort, J-Dub, and Chet being an absolute juggernaut in a few years?

LOL Jalen Smith. Who they received in a trade AFTER giving up Sabonis. and no, 14 months ago he was a negative asset and Wiseman was still looked at like a positive one.

at the time, people were still really high on Wiseman / Kuminga / Moody. I know it was talked about quite a bit before the trade deadline on podcasts and blogs, but I think the general premise was Wiseman plus one or two of Poole/Kuminga/Moody for Turner or Sabonis.

Here's a couple links of rumors
Bill Simmons pod: https://fadeawayworld.net/nba-media/...r-myles-turner
GSOM refers to "future Warrior" Sabonis: https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/20...acramento-king
Pacers blog suggesting a Turner deal: https://8points9seconds.com/2022/12/18/100334/2/

I think if they had offered Wiseman + one or two of the others and/or salary filler, they could have got either Turner or Sabonis, without giving up any of the core

I remember hearing about Wiseman + Moody and filler for Turner. At the time it was a fair deal IMO.

But Sabonis was always rated higher than Turner. The only way they could have gotten Sabonis was by adding Kuminga, and he was pretty much untouchable a year ago. And even then it would have been tough if Sacramento offered the same since Haliburton is rated higher than anyone on the Dubs package.

Didn't Haliburton basically ask out of Sac? I mean he wanted a team that would work with him in building a roster essentially from scratch.

I thought Haliburton was completely shocked and gutted when he found out he got traded. I’m pretty sure the reporting at the time was that he wanted to stay in Sac and build a better culture there.

Wiseman and his "winning time" plays.

Ty is really diplomatic. He may have said that, but I doubt that was the reality.

Yes, the odds are against the Clips on winning a title during the Kawhi/PG era.
Zach Lowe has repeatedly shared this anecdote on the Lowe Post podcast (I'm paraphrasing):
"An NBA executive I highly respect once told me: The Paul George trade might be the most disastrous trade in NBA history, and one the Clippers absolutely had to make. "

I’m trying to not get ahead of myself, but with Ant and LeBron hurt, and the Warriors and Pelicans flopping around, it’s a very real chance they get some playoff experience this year, and should be able to take a game or two from any of the top seeds (but have no chance of winning with a 15 rebound deficit every game).

I love the core, but really hope they can get rid of Dort (Jalen is better anyway), and go with a core of SGA / Giddey / JDub / Chet, and get a solid big who can set solid picks for the main guys and crash the boards. Funny that they’ve already had Adams and Sabonis, who would be the ideal matches for this role. If Miami ever decides to reset, I’d throw a ton of picks to them for Bam

Tyrese himself penned an article for The Players' Tribune, saying he cried he found out he was traded by Sac:

“Hey man, I just wanted to get in touch because I think you might be getting traded.”

I honestly thought he was joking. It was like, Come on now. They’re not trading me. Get out of here. But two seconds later, when it became clear that, actually, he wasn’t joking … I mean, I know this might sound like I’m being dramatic, but you know when you get the news that you hit a get-out-of-jail-free card in Monopoly? And it feels like for a few seconds your heart almost stops? Like there’s just a hollow feeling all through your body? That’s kind of what it was like."

"And then Carslyle called and said I told you at the combine we would set you up with Turner, Smith, and Nesmith... working on that, pretty close... Nwora when we can get him. You said Malthurin fire and Nembhard underrated? But I have a big request. Make Sacramento feel good about it. We don't want any Sabonis revenge games and you know how Fox can carry a grudge. Do your 'let's all get along, gonna miss you bros thing' as only you know how, Ty."

Next thing I know, not even five minutes later, my phone rings. It’s my agent again.

“Indiana,” he says. “It’s looking like Indiana.”

“What?????”

“I’ll keep you posted.”

Strong sense there's some butting follicles behind closed doors down in Atlanta rn with Quin in town.

See this kind of thing all the time on r/malehairadvice.

Seems like only yesterday the BO experts all proclaimed Wiseman was the weak link on the Warriors and the rightful scapegoat for their woes... yeaaaah, they still haven't won a road game since January.... and Wiseman put up 22-13 tonight vs Bam, went 10-13 from the floor, including hitting his only 3P attempt, but I digress.
