For a while Robert’s PSA 10s were priced higher than Yordan, even with Robert not doing anything. I agree they aren’t comparable but collectors were driven by Robert’s potential, while Yordan was hitting and producing, albeit missing a season and all. Heading into Spring Training this year Robert’s PSA 10 flagships we’re selling higher than Yordan…

Last sale of Yordans PSA 10 flagship RC is $16.26
Last sale of Robert’s PSA 10 flagship RC is $16.50

Yeah I’d say the comparable to card prices is crazy and no they aren’t close in their stardom. Still though, saying quantities of cards that are graded is a bit skewed. Can anyone show a breakdown of POP reports from PSA for Tatis, Vlad, etc compared to Alvarez? I’d be curious to see.

My only real take away from this information is to avoid base PSA 10’s if future value is something you are concerned with.

Reminds of the the late 80s HOF's. I know there are a ton out there but they still have some value.

That’s because he’s not just a HR hitter like many. He’s a complete hitter like a Frank Thomas style.
Guys hitting 40+ and batting .280 are a dime a dozen.

Lol I saw they jumped a quarter. No, I know his higher end, harder to find stuff is rising and I’m glad.
I don’t have anything high end but I have enjoyed cherry picking some nicer low end stuff I like.
I actually found some S1 RC of his in a dollar box at a shop.

I've been moving away from chrome recently. But just for you I will complete this, this summer. I didn't even know I had 3 of the 4 until today. As I don't buy waves. I must have got it from eye4talent. He gives me so many amazing Yordan cards!! I don't know why....but happy to keep taking!

I personally think Yordan came out in the perfect collecting year. There is availability of all cards for all buyers at all prices.

I would favor Yordan to finish with more career WAR at this moment, but it's pretty close and is mostly I'm concerned about Vlad being able to maintain his conditioning as he ages.

The crazy thing about Yordan's season is that Fangraphs expected average/OBP stats indicate he's UNDERPERFORMING his contact rates by something like 50 points. Imagine if he was batting .350 right now.

I do not correct for Series 1, 2, and Update. On the Flagship Gold /20xx (or any of the main Flagship/Chrome parallels) I don't believe there is reason to. From those prices that were listed earlier in the thread, they all looked in line with what my predictor would predict...including Yordan.

If we can remember come mid to late July when I re-do my Price Index we can double check everyone.

That portion of the conversation highlights why I like "my guys" to have S1 RC. You don't get the bigger price on base and off brand #'d, but there are simply so many more options available that it's better, IMO.
