Didn't go to any stores this AM, but I see a lot of angry people on Twitter that weren't able to get those Animal Crossing cards. Welcome to the fold, folks!

The app was failing big time. Also Yeezys released this morning. The internet was a hot mess lol

Just witnessed a woman in Walmart arguing LOUDLY with another woman about Donruss baseball cards. A dude in an Air Force uniform loaded up with Upper Deck Hockey blasters, and another poor looking soul hoarding Heritage blasters. All of them looked like they had just rolled out of bed, except for the military guy, who looked squared away.

One of the women was complaining she left her phone at the box area, so they let her look, and she took two more boxes of Donruss.

This was all at 8 AM. The poor rep was just trying to organize the penny sleeves and binder pages display, and he was getting run over by these two "ladies". It was a pitiful display.

I calmly let the dust settle and picked up 2 Series 1 blasters. I've opened 2 packs of the first 7 and got a Bichette gold and a Blue Soto. So far, so good. People are desparate to make that 5 bucks flipping, I guess....

Ran into my Walmart rep for the first time ever yesterday evening and she couldn’t be nicer. The dust had already settled on the hot stuff (S1 was still all wrapped up untouched lol) I wasn’t a pain but she was nicer to me than i think i would have been to people asking me questions while I’m trying to restock lol still can’t believe i saw folks standing around wed AM and thurs AM and she didn’t come in until late afternoon

Oh yeah, and my LCS is LOADED UP with supplies. He has a deal where if you buy 5 packs of sleeves for a buck each, the 6th one is free. No supply shortages around here, apparently.

One of the guys at my Target (who seems to know a lot of details of inner workings) said there was some class action lawsuit that forced Target to come up with sort of more equitable plan and the 8am friday is the result, anyone else hear anything like this?

The rep had empty boxes of stuff, so I am assuming he had done a full re-stock. No hoops, but plenty of baseball and hockey. These folks will try to flip anything. I mean, are 2020 base Donruss a hot item?

Was wondering the same but the rep said that was gone instantly... i don’t know. Having learned about licenses and everything last year i can’t do unlicensed product. Can’t unsee the non-logos

I'm in the same boat. I hate the no logo thing. Hard to get past it for me personally.

I think they try to make up for it with a decent checklist and lots of shiny parallels. It’s a fun rip but agreed, the lack of logos is disappointing.

Only product i think I’d have fun ripping would be chronicles. Loved BBall missed out on BB and FB last year. I might try a pack of the other stuff (Donruss, Prizm, etc.) but definitely not like i am with Topps BB (which I’ve surprised myself how much I’ve ripped)

My Target put up the 8am Friday signs this week. I figured I'd give it a shot before work, so I got there around 6:30 this morning and I was 10th in line. By 8 there were around 30 people waiting.

At 8 o'clock, they let everyone in to the customer service area. Cards were on racks behind the counter, separated by SKU. As far as I could tell, everyone was allowed one of each SKU. Unfortunately for me, the only sports they had were Heritage blasters. They had a bunch of other stuff (Pokemon I guess, I have zero knowledge of that stuff). So, I left with the one Heritage blaster as a consolation prize. Definitely not worth the effort.

Same thing with my local Target, just Heritage baseball and Pokemon. Wondering if basketball and football cards are still getting backdoored somehow.

Seems like these stores may have been told what is about to happen with prizm basketball, wonder if this is timed to be in effect for that? I've been saying for awhile that these stores are not prepared for what will happen when that comes out. You have some huge sets coming out soon between Prizm basketball, optic basketball, select football, mosaic basketball, etc. There's 30-40 people at every store I go to now. As the weather warms up, you'll have people camping out overnight on the sidewalk. At the same though, if you advertise the time the cards get stocked, you'll increase the number of people waiting. For my area though, where there are 7 targets, that would spread people out across them. I have no clue how I feel about that policy other than it would save me a lot of time and gas.
