Regardless of what the rule book states, the game has been officiated a certain way for a while now. Unless we are starting new precedents overnight, if a player’s hand gets bludgeoned when they are attempting a shot, it’s going to be called a foul. It really doesn’t matter if their hand was on the ball or not.

For other precedents, refer to how traveling, carrying, and lane violations are interpreted by most officials.

Took 2 seconds:

Contact which occurs on the hand of the offensive player, while that part of the hand is in contact with the ball, is legal.

https://official.nba.com/rule-no-12-...and-penalties/

Under B. Personal Foul, Section 1, part E.

This rule exists so slapping down or stripping a player (a common basketball action) is not called a foul. It's essentially an unwritten rule that it does not apply to or is superseded by the act of shooting.

But if you get hand with the ball, it's likely because you blocked the shot.

Except you blew past parts A and B. I'm not going to bother copy/pasting them, because they're essentially the "common sense" rules, but the whole "ball is part of the hand" often gets misconstrued, and the whole idea that "getting hacked on the hands" is ok, is incorrect.

Sure "contact" is fine, if it doesn't affect the offensive player's movement. Incidental contact if both players are going for a loose ball, or when you're going for a strip and your fingers cross, is fine. Blatantly slapping someone across the hands is a foul. Just because you hack someone on the hand instead of the forearm, doesn't make it a clean play. You're attempting to choose one rule to observe while ignoring the others already in place

I agree with this, but again the nuance of the intention is lost on most people, who simply cling to "hand is part of the ball". If I'm going up with the ball, you slap down and strip me, but my arms are still able to move in an upward motion, the contact is incidental, and not a foul. If you slap down, catching mostly hand, so that one arm goes up while the other hand that got hit, remains down, you have affected my motion and is therefore a foul

Zion Lucky Envelopes Phoenix /8 just listed. Very cool niche card but way out of my price range. It doesn’t have “Lucky Envelopes” in the title though if you are trying to find it.

An Essentials PSA 10 Lucky Envelopes just listed too. It looks amazing, though the asking price is way too high in my opinion.

When his tendon died...a part of me died.

Going to be tough watching the remainder of the rs now with bae gone. But we're gonna get through this. Will be picking up a big card within the next month or two.

Gone til' November.

Just got back from show in Clearwater Florida brought some zions to see what would get and you would have thought he died. Dealers suck, they try Jedi mind tricks on trying to buy oh he is out for season. When I ask if you discount on cards you are selling of his they are like oh he will be back. I understand they have to make money but you can’t have it both ways

Well i hate to bring more bad news but it turns out the injury was on his fapping hand. He might have to call lonzo to get an assist.

Same.. went for the almost rainbow since I'll probably never have the 1/1 or gold. The lucky envelopes will be interesting to see what it goes for

Have bronze, teal, pink, blue, purple, green, silver. Missing the red but hoping it pops up during the dip

That’s the one downside i noticed in my first bigger show recently. Wait wait wait, so you’re saying the same argument that devalues my card, doesn’t change the value of the one you’re trying to sell? Is the word STUPID written across my forehead

Never thought I'd live to see the day I'm peeping a Pels game solely because of a player on the other team.

Saw this…. About time and money we’ll spent

The NBA fined New Orleans Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin $50,000 on Sunday "for public criticism of the officiating and comments detrimental to the NBA."

Pricing all over the place. I placed bids early tonight because I was busy, won some stuff I didn’t expect to, and watched other things go way above what I thought. Crazy times
