So Cena's brief heel run is all for nothing...at least I guess correctly that his 17th top-tier title won't last until the end of his farewell tour.
Onto the IC title to complete the grand slam before facing someone big for his last opponent, I guess? lol

Edit: nevermind. Onto Brock already. lol

I was really hoping for something more to conclude the heel storyline. Like maybe have The Rock come out to help Cena and then have Cena stop The Rock or something to that effect. Its just kind of lame having face Cena back because Cody forced him into a street fight.

You couldn't have him retire without facing Brock. Should be good.
The more intriguing thing...where is the Rock?

Hes the one that "turned" Cena heel...and he's basically vanished since, after wanting "Cody's soul"..

There was a clue that Lesnar was coming back last night and I bet 99% of you missed it

He was never going to retire as a heel. He could have prolonged it a while longer but not all the way until December. Would have made no sense.

Cody got booed quite a bit, but getting Cena's approval at the end should help quell it. (I really liked the salute.)

I wonder if HHH was like screw it we don't want him or need him around anymore and won't put him into any plans that take part with Cody or Cena.

Not saying that he stays heel until the end, but the turning back into face this past Friday feels weird to me. Too easy.

Agreed there. All it took was a two minute apology to undo it all.

I could live without seeing him again. He threw a big monkeywrench into the works, all to sell more tickets for Elimination Chamber.

Who cares if HHH says screw Rock because at the end of the day in real life Rock sits on the TKO Board Of Director's who writes HHH's paycheck. So I don't think Rock gives 2 craps about HHH

Can always depend on WWE fan logic having no logic lmao hate on Cena’s heel run since it began than also be upset they turned him back face. It’s what I would expect from the same fans who will cheer a Vince or Brock like a returning hero but boo Hogan out of the building lol

You can sit on the board but have zero say in how the company is run.

Cena's heel turn was intriguing, but ultimately once it was made clear Rock nor even Travis Scott would be around it quickly turned into "im going to call the fans horrible human beings" in every promo into May. like he just said on Smackdown, it made for "shocking TV" but was real forced.

Pretty sure trying to sell DCU as one of their top draws by trashing fans at shows even ifs for "for show" probably not greatest of ideas.

Again his heel turn was interesting......for all of about a week or 2. If Rock was made to be around or even around long enough to help sell it even more than i think it would have had longer legs into the fall. Instead, pivot, WWE does love to pivot

Now he can have match with Brock and then likely put Drew over and then one of either Breakerr or Gunther before the end

Speaking of his brief heel run this year, if the plan is to turn Cena back into a face this SummerSlam, then I don't think that his apology promo this past Friday is even necessary. Simply stay heel until the end of this match, shake and raise Cody's hands afterward, and the face turn is done.

WWE has had some fantastic heel turns over the last few months that have just ended up going nowhere. First New Day, now Cena, and I feel like Seth is heading that way as well.

Reports are WWE flew Lesnar in and out of several airports in an attempt to throw people off then snuck him into Teterboro on a private jet where they kept him hidden all day Sunday. He didn't make an appearance backstage until just a couple of minutes before he came out.

Was it WWE touting videos of Triple H with a Felon and a registered sex offender? Let the audience know to expect more trash people to be incoming shortly?

WWE does not care about the people who think it's cool to scream cancel everyone because I express fake outrage over everything. People get offended who the WWE does business with they are free not to watch.

Well, that is the Right way of looking at things. Not the "correct" way, but the Right way.

I'm guessing the Lesnar thing was in the works for a while now and it got greenlit this past week. It would explain the sudden return to face for Cena on Friday instead of a more gradual plot line.

I myself am not a fan of spamming finishing moves, but the match was entertaining and certainly better than their Mania match, also you have a long list of bad takes.

Cody mentioned on Bill Simmons's podcast he expected to be boo'd.

I think that's all it took because the people have wanted to cheer him the whole time. I enjoyed his heel stuff, it was fun, but his core fanbase just wants to cheer him.

---
Lesnar was certainly a surprise, but I don't find myself excited to see him vs Cena in a who shows up less match. Cena is down to 9-10 dates over 4 months? Who is suppose to carry the feud if neither of them ever show up?

Sounds like the untelevised dark match was better than some of the actual matches last night. lol

Quote:
A large fight occurred outside the ring at WWE’s SummerSlam on Sunday, and it was not the Cody Rhodes-John Cena street fight.

A video posted to X captured what appeared to be three female fans going at it in the stands, and then a male fan grabbing one of the women and pulling her away from behind.

Another man appeared to grab the male fan, and two women from the ruckus exchanged some hair-pulling and punches. A total of six fans appeared to be directly involved, although only one woman was seen throwing punches in the video. However, the woman in the red pants appeared to land a kick on one of the men after security settled most of the madness down.

It is unclear what provoked the brouhaha.

You should not criticize anyone on bad takes when you have a huge list
