Because the serial #s on them are different, the card was busted out of the case and resubmitted.

Can't even imagine going through the process of busting a 9.5 / 10. 9.5 / 9? Maybe.

After looking at the full BGS submission, it's pretty clear that an order was sent in looking for grade bumps..Any bump in grade for any of the following would more than offset the cost of getting them looked at.
The Lin NT is just one sub bump from being a Black Label BGS 10 Davis Immaculate just one sub bump from being a BGS 9.5 Huge profits if even just one gets a bump. In this situation it looks like BGS chose the Harden. Anthony Davis Immac Acetate/23.......GRADE 0 Kevin Durant Chron Stitches..............GRADE 0 Kevin Durant SP Auth/299.................GRADE 0 Jeremy Lin NT/25..............................GRADE 0 James Harden NT.............................BGS 10 Kevin Durant Bowman Superfractor.....GRADE 0 Kevin Durant SP Auto Retail................GRADE 0 10 11 Jeremy Lin National Treasures Prime RC Rookie Patch Auto 25 BGS 10 Pop 1 | eBay 2007 08 Kevin Durant Bowman Sterling Superfractor Refractor RC Rookie 5 BGS 9 | eBay 2012 13 Anthony Davis Immaculate Acetate RC Patch Auto 23 BGS 9 5 from 9 5 | eBay Last edited by minnesotachill; 05-13-2016 at 02:06 PM. |

I'm new to grading, why do all but 1 say Grade 0? Does that mean they had a minimum grade listed by the submitter and so they didn't reach that grade? If so, how are they still in their BGS holders? This all seems so strenuous to me.

The cards would have been sent in in their original holders. A 0 means that the card did not qualify for the minimum grade.
The owner of the Harden most likely sent in the BGS 9.5 and requested a new label if it was bumped. It's not uncommon for people do try and get sub bumps at the big shows. Walk over to the BGS booth, drop off your cards, and they will look at them and decide if they want to bump the grades. Last edited by minnesotachill; 05-13-2016 at 02:14 PM. |

BGS is not a machine. Eventually, you will hit a "right" guy to give you the bump.

@ Rookies, thank you for your response, I appreciate it
@ minnedotachill, great work finding all the cards on the order, the Lin and the harden I just listed of from the same board member, the davis I actually bought elsewhere and is my own card so just coincidence that it appears on that order as well. |

looking back at this old thread, it looks like we had all the info on the LeBron a while ago as it's mentioned in here a few times.

Grading is a scam. Seems to me that the big submitters get taken care of while the normal guy gets what he gets. Grading is so subjective. The difference is value between a 9, 9.5, 10, or a Black Label 10 is huge.
I’ve had conversations with many people and they say the same thing: the grading companies are bought and paid for by the big submitters. If a card is resubbed the companies need to let the collecting community know, total laziness on their part. |

I've submitted a 1/1 before that got a BGS 8. Cracked, resubmitted and got a 9.5. Both times the correct grade was given. How could this be?
I wiped down the card and took off whatever brown residue it was that made the surface a 7.. into a 9.5. Sooo.. while I agree with this in some cases (maybe huge cards).. most of the time it would just be be overkill. |
