Gosh these responses were great! Hahaha

Yes, I decided to go for the flip. I ripped a case of Heritage at release and pretty much struck out, so I decided to not try my luck again. Hard to walk away from a quick profit.

I'll be buying some singles with the proceeds.

And thanks for all the compliments on my description! LOL...I've gotta give a nice pitch to justify myself for asking double what they cost me. I mean, what better way to celebrate the 4th of July than a little old-fashioned free market capitalism!

I'm expecting this to happen more frequently due to the high hobby prices. Instead of paying BO for a case, people will waste their time and gas hunting retail boxes only to find empty shelves. It's the same deal as hot and resellable toys.

LOL. I'll let them sit on eBay for a week. If they don't sell for what I want, I'll take them back to Target. No risk here for me.

Retail is a scam, it's sad since most kids can only afford to buy blasters with horrible odds. Get rid of single packs they all get searched, box all hanger packs and make the odds better on blasters. The odds are so bad it's almost a crime.

For the kids at my elementary school, I wouldn't call it a crime. When I showed them autos, they weren't all that impressed. They love when they earn little packs (I bundle 10-20 at a time) of cards. They can't wait to get to the playground to look at the backs and trade with friends.

Maybe to some kids who have been conditioned to believe it's "hit or bust", yeah retail seems like a waste, but to my 3rd graders (and past 3rd graders who are 4th and 5th graders), a card with a cool picture or their favorite team/player is enough to satisfy them.

I was referring to retail in general. He wasn't specific in his wording. Settle down.

Settle down? Did you see one exclamation point or capital letter in that whole response? Nope, just saying please don't say your buying hertiage, like the OP is referring to, for elementary kids to trade while they eat fruit loops on the play ground .

Three question marks after the first sentence...sounded like you were getting a little unsettled. Anyhow, I was quoting a member who did not specifically say "2017 heritage retail", but rather "retail". I was responding to the general idea of retail not being a crime/scam as it relates to kids in my community.

I'm just musing on the whole situation, never really was hating. I previously stated I would also buy the same if I saw it in a store.....maybe. but I also said he's gonna get nothing when he could of got a sure thing, more meat and booze for a great July 4th party. Also was only trying to stress to everyone and do mean everyone. You have a greater chance getting a Christmas present from the tooth fairy then hitting a big card in retail, kisses love you good night.

I wasn't saying you were hating. I felt like you misunderstood, that's all. I was simply clearing the air. Have a pleasant evening.

I get what you are saying. I grew up in the 90s and spent thousands of my parents money buying packs from boxes that had been cherry picked. I was still happy. I should have been more clear, young adults getting into the card hobby almost always start in retail. After you realise you are wasting your money, most save up and move to hobby.

This needs to change, the card companies are getting away with watering down the odds to a point that I argue is criminal. If I spend $20 on a blaster of bowman and a hobby box is $100 the blaster odds should be close to 1\5th of what a hobby box yields. In reality a blasters odds are 1\20th or even worse compared to a hobby box. This isn't even taking into account single packs young collectors buy that are pack searched within hours of being delivered to retail.

When Topps\Panini has a gravity box delivered to retail within 48 hours they have been searched. The odds were crap before being searched. These companies would figure out a way to prevent this if it wasn't an afterthought to their main business when it should be treated as a way to encourage young adults into this hobby.

I looked at the odds on a site for these. The hangers have way better odds than the blasters. Imo. Rip the hangers. Sell blasters

Oops nevermind. It was a whole hanger box odds vs 1 single pack. My bad.

is the Judge stuff that valuable or easy to get in these boxes? I bought a blaster the other day at Target and pulled my very first Judge rookie, but it's just the common one with Austin.
