Show it off! Not too many people PC him. Sad to see him go. He was very fan friendly

Ohtani pitched for the first time today. He wasn't too great. I've always thought his stats were padded on Japan because the batters there, I feel, are inferior to those here in MLB, even to those in the minor leagues

Tyler Skaggs had a great first inning but could only get 1 out in the 2nd inning before giving up 2 homeruns and 3 runs. Seems like this is Skaggs' MO... he pitches great and then has that one inning where he totally gets killed. Maybe the 6 man rotation will help him... assuming he makes the 6 man rotation.... currently 8 pitchers in the hunt to make that 6 man rotation.

What do you guys think about today's lineup? Looks like this could be the regular season lineup, maybe platoon Pujols and Ohtani in the DH spot

1 - Kinsler
2 - Trout
3 - Upton
4 - Pujols
5 - Calhoun
6 - Cozart
7 - Valbuena
8 - Simmons
9 - Maldonado

If Pujols doesn't perform better than last year, they can't leave him in 4th.

But yes a good line-up.

If Pujols is in it ... it isn't a good lineup. One of the best hitters in the history of the game but mother nature is a cruel mistress, she makes exceptions for no one. I've said it more than once, Albert, you're one of the greats but honor your word, you said if you couldn't pull your weight you'd retire, well?

Yes he did say that. Alot of us fan, myself included, hope he hangs it up. It's been a great career but the way he performs now is slowing down the team.

I think Albert now is just padding stats. I like the way Alex Rodriguez did it. He could've continued and passed 700 and then Babe Ruth but he knew it was his time to stop. I respect that he knew he had to walk away and he did.

Let’s see if Albert can run this year. It was embarrassing last year to see all the infielders playing in the outfield and throwing him out at first base.

STADIUM UPDATE

Just came back from buying tickets to the opener...below is the update

- There's a new rectangular LED screen at home plate gate entrance. The screen is so long that it covers all fans as they walk between security check point and the turnstiles.

- Vladimir Guerrero is one of the big pictures outside of home plate gate. The others are: Trout, Simmons, Upton, Pujols, and Scioscia. No Ohtani lol

- The right field bleachers were not lowered as reported. The seats are the same and the scoreboard remains on the tall wall. The difference is this: the team added a bright yellow line that stretches from where the centerfield wall ends, all the way to the end of right field.

So basically, if a batter hits the scoreboard, above the yellow line, it's a homerun instead of what used to be a standup double. I believe the yellow line is 8 feet above the warning track dirt.

over the past year or two i have come to realize just how great a talent mike trout is. i have decided to embrace the fact that he works about 12 miles from my house. planning on going to a handful of games this year when other good teams are in town.

Mike Trout goes 0-6 in a game for the first time in his MLB career.

There you have it. Angels lose their 1st game. Angels hit but couldn't get their pitching to hold the leads. Trout really came up short, specially in extra innings.

Calhoun and Cozart did pretty well

Onto the next game

0-1 season record

Aside from Upton, the team as a whole has been playing really good defense.
