Here's the famed team Hanna-Barbera with autographs on cards of their studio's biggest characters, Bill on Fred & Barney and Joe on Yogi Bear.

(While they produced the original Scooby-Doo Mysteries, Scoob was created by Ruby-Spears who had their own beloved studio after leaving Hanna-Barbera. Still, if they'd signed the card of Scooby, it would sure go great with the voice actor cards from the Inkworks set shown above).

These are from an early 90's studio-use promotional 36 card set, one of several released back then. It was issued in a little display box, and is fairly comprehensive for a small set. Here's the rest of it, a collection of the best known cartoon characters under the classic Hanna-Barbera name.

Here's another full-set of the first Simpsons voiceover cast autograph card set from 2000 Inkworks Simpsons 10th Anniversary, along with a Kelsey Grammer autograph from Rittenhouse "X-Men III", the closest we can currently get to an official signed card of the voice of Sideshow Bob, longtime nemesis of Bart Simpson.

There was recently an official card issued with Jon Lovitz' autograph. He's voiced multiple characters on the show, so that card is a must for any serious Simpsons autograph card collection, but I haven't picked one up yet.

Those are awesome. What a set of autos to have! I was never even aware of the inkworks Simpsons set from 2000.

Thanks!
Yeah, I was at my LCS waiting for those to come in the day they were scheduled to arrive. That first case had the redemptions for the Bart and Homer.

From a Rittenhouse Twilight Zone set, here is voiceover legend June Foray:

June would be a first ballot Hall of Famer in this field. In addition to the evil doll Talky Tina, as seen on this card, she voiced Rocket J. (Rocky) Squirrel on "The Bullwinkle Show", did early work for Disney, was Tweety's Granny & Witch Hazel for Warner Brothers' "Looney Tunes", and Aunt May for the beloved early 80's Saturday morning "Spider-Man" cartoon.

Say, Rudy, what a great thread!
I know, Rudy, but no one ever posts in it.
That's true, Rudy, but here's something pretty cool:

Pretty cool stuff, Rudy, maybe somebody else has more?

Opening it up from just autographs and sketches a bit, let's take a look at some other notable animated TV series-related cards.

Shown are three variations of the same "The Simpsons" card from the 2013 Topps 75th Anniversary set, which celebrated the company's various non-sports releases up 'til then. Included is a 1/1 (black) printing plate, a Diamond Sparkle Parallel out of /75, and an unnumbered foil parallel. To make the rainbow of this card, you'd need a regular base card (easy) and a Modern Gloss Parallel /10 (very, very hard).

The other 3 cards are from the original 1990 Topps Simpsons set. Topps bought them back and stamped them with their foil 75th anniversary logo. These buybacks (which came from a myriad of vintage Topps sets) were randomly inserted, about 1-2 per box.

Man I know I have said it before, but I really wish they would do another Simpsons series, one of my all time fav shows and so many cameos over the years it would be an awesome opportunity imo.

Too true, there hasn't been a proper new set in essentially 20 years, which is pretty crazy. On the upside, at least the ones that are out there are getting some love.

From 1994 Simpsons Skybox Series II, here's the Arty Art set featuring some nifty interpretations from some of Simpsons creator's Matt Groening's friends.

Not exactly Series I's "Art D'Bart" in terms of rarity as these cards were found 1 per 5 hobby boxes or 1:180 packs (as opposed to the "Lucky Day" card found just once per 9000 Series I packs), but still pretty long odds for a single non-sports chase card from a set of 4 in those days.

These cards were available on the secondary market for about $40 each, give or take, for a couple of decades after release, but have taken a nice jump in value over this past decade and can now sell for $100+ each. They have an unusual quality to them, sort of embossed with this ink itself being raised, as opposed to impressions made in the card itself by some sort of pressing method.

Anyway, here's the "Scooby-Doo Monsters & Mysteries" autograph set.
(Sketch cards from this are shown in Post #1.)

The original voice of Scooby-Doo, Don Messick, sadly, had already passed away by 2003, when this set was issued, but the rest of the original gang is well represented with signatures. Susan Blu signed many of her cards in blue ball-point pen, but this set has hers in black thin marker, as with all other autographs in the set.

More of my stuff will follow shortly, but what do you have?
Post it up!
Just a note about Nicole David, she went on to become an agent at William Morris. One of her biggest clients was Whitney Houston.

Let's try this again. I'll hopefully kickstart a new flurry with this image of my full set of all 9 artists from the "Simpsons Mania" set from Inkworks, made in 2001, so an early sketch set to be sure. Most of these artists were directors of the Simpsons TV series who, among them, literally have more than half of the classic episodes from the so-called "Golden Age" of the show, basically the 1990s, to their credits.

(Thank to super sketch collector Prenz for this arrangement of the cards. )

Only Rich Moore used color on his cards so his and the cards from Phil Ortiz tend to command higher value. In Phil's case, it's because he drew many, many 1 of a kind characters who only appeared within his own set of sketch card (Each artist drew around 250, and most of them largely stuck to the core family members). My Ortiz is of Karl (voiced by Harvey Fierstein), Homer's executive assistant from the early episode where he grew hair and quickly ascended the corporate ladder as a result.

Of special note to me is the card from David Silverman, the Simpsons director in my opinion who did the classic title sequence AND directed the Simpsons Movie from 10 years ago and the one from Wesley Archer. Wes is the animation genius who played a huge role in the development of Mike Judge's "King of the Hill", the second greatest animated series of all-time (after the Simpsons, which even Rick and Morty can never top).

In addition to having one card from all 9 artists, I also made the effort to get at least one card of the main 5 Simpsons family members between them.

There was also a set of autograph cards of the voice actors in this set, which I'll add soon.
I will admit the green-eyed monster has gotten hold of me seeing these Simpsons sketches. Awesome.

I picked this card up for $8.95 on Ebay when this set first came out. I think it took people some time to realize just who June Foray was. Deal of the century.

It was a blast, and most of it was issued during the classic years of the show when it was at its most popular, so Simpsons stuff was usually readily available at allowance-friendly prices, certainly the trading cards were.
I'm going to post a lot more non-auto Simpsons cards of note at some point.
I have some nice international issues.
(I also plan to show the only cards I know of from "King of the Hill", which is returning later this year. )

Finally got all of my Ghostbusters together for a group scan:

They didn't get Frank Welker to sign, so I'll probably just do what other collectors have done in the past and get a custom card signed.

Also wanted to include my Ashley Eckstein Masterwork auto:

Too bad they didn't get Welker, as he's signed for other sets, but still very nice!
LaMarche is a voiceover legend. I remember seeing him at Comic-Con during a Futurama panel, and as he sat down, he said, using his spot-on William Shatner imitation, "Please, don't applaud. It...sickens me." The whole room roared with laughter.

Just goes to show you that if you have the goods, you can get a quick 15k with just a short AI description and some pictures.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/25679586237...tedSearch=true

This is a press kit for 1993 Simpsons Skybox Series 1 that apparently came with a "Lucky Day" redemption card good for a Matt Groening "Art D'Bart". These were usually found 1 per 9,000 packs, but apparently 1 in each of however many of these press kits were issued. The hand-numbered card could be redeemed for a Matt Groening Sketch card. For whatever reason, this one was never mailed in, which was very good indeed for the holder of this press kit in 2025.

Out of all "Simpsons" cards issued over 35 years, the "Lucky Day" is in the top 3 most wanted along with the actual "Art D'Bart" it could've been exchanged for and a "Bartarang" redemption card xx/50 from a 1997 Australian set. All that to say, the above is true Grail piece in animated trading card collectibles.
Congrats to its deep pocketed new owner.

Thanks for the actual selling price, which is in the usual ballpark for that card.

Other than a TV Guide 4-card set and some RC Cola sweepstakes cards from early during the show's first run (25+ years ago), I know of no trading cards for "King of the Hill", back at last for its 14th season after a 15 year break, August 4th on Hulu.

Here are some temporary tattoos though, with fanciful illustrations, the likes of which would make great cards. These were prizes at the Arlen, Texas Activation set up on the oceanside of the great Hall during the San Diego Comic-Con last week to promote the series return. I only got this one, but there was a second sheet, equally hilarious, if you know these characters.

Boy, I tell you hwat, when we left, we were on Fox which you could get with a good antenna on your roof to watch on your 4ft-by-4ft 25 inch TV built into a wood cabinet. Now it's a "streaming platform" called "Hulu" and you need to have the internet to watch it on your phone's tiny screen or in some fancy eyeglasses or some such. Progress, I guess...

INKWORKS really was something special. Was a sad day for the hobby when they closed up shop and handed all of their remaining signatures to Razor.

Really wish a company as good as Inkworks would come around again with a Kickstarter. But truly the value of these products were the limited runs, and the era they were made. They didn't make much money. It would take a very special company like Inkworks.

That show was on for 14 seasons? Holy crap. I remember when it debuted -- I always thought the father was the same guy with glasses from Beavis and Butthead.

It was 13 seasons back when and the revival gets at least 2 seasons from the jump, but given the promotion of it, and the resources Hulu has for its other animated shows, I think we could see several more new seasons after these first two. By the way, all 10 new episodes will be available August 4th, which is a new thing for this show which was always weekly during the original run.

Hank Hill is definitely a younger version of Tom Anderson, the neighborhood man Beavis & Butthead have caused so much trouble for over the years. For anyone who doesn't know, "King of the Hill" and "Beavis & Butthead" are both from Mike Judge, who also does the voices of Mr. Anderson, Hank Hill, Boomhauer, Beavis, and Butthead.
