They should have gotten Twitch and YouTube streamer autograph cards.

This set is not meant to cater to the typical trading card collecter who expects all the bells and whistles of today's market. However, the loot cards are a obvious omission.

I'm sure the decision to include loot cards is ultimately up to Epic Games, and honesty I'm not sure they'd be willing to do that. They have done exclusive sprays that were given out at events like PAX, but that's it. Selling skins in game is their cash cow, why would they give them out? There are soooooo many Fortnite products out there and they've had a lot of opportunities to include codes if they wanted, but they don't need to. Just my 2 cents.

1 loot card every 24 packs or 48 packs is hardly giving away the castle. Especially if there are, let's say, 50 different loot cards. Each card being tiered to rarity. Perhaps a similar card to the Spectral Tiger , found in WOW, that was very difficult to pull. The company sold $318 MILLION of in-game purchases in May 2018 alone.

They definitely should have included some codes to unlock some skins. There is no "cap" to the number of a particular skin being given away so they aren't really losing money there other than the time is takes to design one of the skins.

Serial numbered cards would have been great including some prizms and golds for the legendary or match the color of the foil with the rarity of the weapon and/or skin/item.

That would have got me more likely to try out a few boxes being that I am a trading card collector and also play the game.

I'll take the wait and see approach on the first release.

In my Target right for some work stuff and in my walk down the card section I discovered two boxes of packs on the shelf. I can’t upload pics off my phone now but packs are 27 (24+3 bonus) cards per pack, 12 packs per box.

4 rares per pack, epic in every 2 packs, Legendary in every 3 packs, foil in every 6.

300 cards in the set, 100 base, 50 uncommon, 50 rare, 50 epic and 50 legendary cards make up the set.

I've got a 3rd grader that lives for fortnite with his pals. I bought a few boxes from BO, he has already lost interest, and hasn't opened all the packs yet. If these had in-game codes, he would be losing his mind right now. I imagine these will get pretty cheap down the road.

I think, although still popular, Fortnite has lost some popularity. My 6th grader and his friends are not as gung ho about it and have started spending more time on other games.

I'm thinking those may have been the fat packs, or there's another SKU I saw on Ebay, not sure what you would call that. Already threw the wrappers away on mine, so not sure.

Forgot we had a thread here in nonsports also. Posted over in the Esports thread, found these in Target over the weekend, picked up some blasters, couple fat packs and some loose packs. No Mega boxes that I saw, believe they have special crystal variations. Main chase will be the foils, which look to be the hardest to hit. Being a Fortnite fan, I like it. It's a nice set. Disappointed Panini took the special bundle they were offering off their site and cancelled orders. Think it was a box, special set and a binder. Not sure what happened, but would have liked a binder.

The $10 blaster box, which has 6 packs, states 1 rare per pack, epic in every 6, legendary in every 12 and foil every 24 packs. I'm guessing those are the odds for regular packs. Plus there's a bonus epic card individually wrapped in each blaster.

Yeah, these are totally fat packs. Plastic wrappers and large pack sizes. I forgot to scan them for a price and my pictures didn’t catch the bar code on them because it was covered up when I took a picture of the on pack odds.

The SKU on the box is 6 13297 94780 6

Food for thought... Did Pokemon cards integrate with video games? As they go for a tonne of money...

Pokemon cards are themselves a card game. These cards are no different than any trading cards for tv shows from the 80s. Just cards.

Every pack of Pokemon cards now comes with a digital code for the Pokemon TCG app, so if you buy a booster or a theme deck, you'll get a code for that in the app, which is pretty cool. They also experimented with the Nintendo E-reader back in the day, where some of the cards at the time featured barcodes you could scan and either play a mini game or look up info on the Pokemon.

Not sure if that's what you were asking.

Revisiting this - considering investing a bit into sealed. The black night Holo is bringing in big bucks. Anyone actually buy into this last year or now?

Wow ... that’s crazy! Can that card be hit in Dollar Tree packs?

I have zero idea. But if that card is fetching that now and the game evolves it might not be a bad idea to invest in some. I'm looking at mega boxes. All I know is it's in series 1..

I think I'm going to sit on the wax for a bit - we'll see.

I am definitely interested - have you been able to find a checklist yet?

There's some info on cardboardconnection, but I can't seem to locate an actual checklist.

Put a lot into this over the summer. The mega boxes are the only ones that have crystal shards in them. It's a clear 2 card pack, and from the handful I've opened it appears the second card is always Legendary (BK eligible).

I started searching in July and have only come across one sealed case of the Megas so jumped on that quickly and will be holding tight.

I have three black knight shards and four holos. Condition was not Series 1's friend so I think 8's of these will do really well over time, 9 and 10 obv big multipliers.

I'm starting to regret giving all my Fortnite cards to my ex-girlfriend's son and not buying some mega boxes to hold onto. It seems too late to get any of the crystal shards at a decent price now. I'll still be keeping an eye out for Series 2 though.
