I have to say that if you’re a new eBay seller, eBay doesn’t really make it clear that the Global Shipping Program isn’t the only option for shipping internationally from the United States. Any seller could hypothetically ship to any country on Earth but there are clearly risks in doing so. Shipping your high end sale to Louisville, Kentucky and forgetting about it at no additional cost to the seller is a much better alternative than going to the post office and hoping that your product arrives in one piece or that the tracking information will update once it leaves the United States.
A lot of the complaints seem to boil down to citizens being angry that they’re being expected to pay taxes on imports. |

If Canada Customs was consistent and charged straight up across the board all fees and taxes then no problem. But they don't. It's all so very random. So being charged by Pitney Bowes/ebay for such when THEY ARE NOT NECESSARILY PAYING THEM EITHER BUT JUST POCKETING THE DIFFERENCE is what gets my goat. |

Personally I think the GSP is a scam, as for Importing items into Canada, everything is subject to Duty and Tax...
Sports cards are Duty-Free but according to CBSA you must self declare for the TAX portion, but I mean who does that? Canadian Customs Tariff 4911.91.00.30 Trading Cards |
