Ok Lebrologists, I get it.

You don’t want to conclude the regular season because you don’t want your boy A train getting hurt after not ballin for a few months.

Then you want the inside track directly to the playoffs to get rid of any fringe teams in the west from working the lake show in the early rounds.

Fine, bronnie earned his stellar regular season record. How about cancel the season so they don’t have to shut it down AGAIN when someone tests positive on the court during a playoff money grab.

We’ll grant Bron one-fourth an nba championship credit, giving him a 3.25-6 career finals record. He doesn’t even have to play to get it. There, everybody happy again?

Geez, bron boyz salty today!

People hate on LeBron in public, but in private they want his cards. Lol. Remind me of how things work in DC.

I'm no LeBron fan and don't exactly want to see him win a ring, but LBJ stuff aside I would still have a few concerns:
As a Jazz fan, if we jumped straight to the playoffs then that would be a more favorable matchup because I'd certainly rather play the Thunder than the Rockets. That is one reason you might think that I'd rather jump to the playoffs. However, if the players haven't been able to play much and then go straight to playoff intensity, we're gonna see a pretty sloppy first round. I'd like the teams to have a little bit of a mini training camp time like a few regular season games to get them into playoff mode. I'd also like to see Portland or the Pellies have an opportunity to make a run at the 8 seed.

Another thing that would worry me is the quarantine of positive players. Again, this would actually be a benefit of the Jazz since Rudy and Donovan have both tested positive for the 'rona already. But if players who test positive are required to sit, can you imagine how lame it would be if we got to the Finals and LeBron or Giannis can't play, even if they aren't showing symptoms? How about if Kawhi tests positive and so the Clips get upset before they even have a chance to face off against the Lakers?
If those kinds of situations occur, whoever wins the ship, whether it's LeBron or not, is going to seem like even more of an asterisk. If Anthony Davis got coronavirus and it helped the Jazz win a 2nd round matchup, it just seems kind of lame to me. More like winning the NIT.

I agree that they should take the standings as they are and start the playoffs. Would it be nice to see how the season would have played out, yes but don't see how they can get it done.

There is a 0% chance sports are played in 2020. My wife’s school is already planning on not going back in the fall.

Best season?

This is one of his worst seasons. Bottom 5.

Maybe in IL but other places are afraid to open. Nascar this weekend, UFC last weekend. One might be a sport.

You should probably say "The sports I care about" because sports are absolutely going to happen and already are.

The UFC fight I'll be watching tonight isn't taped. NASCAR is happening this weekend. Golf will be back in 3 weeks.

Silver has already said a decision on the season isn’t needed in May and a decision most likely won’t be made until early June. Players union, team officials and medical staff have already said players/teams will need a minimum of 25 days to get together/get in game shape. Realistically that puts the season starting around July 1st. If we just have standardized playoff system with the current teams that would qualify that roughly has the season ending around beginning of September. If we tack on another month to finish the regular season that’s pushing early October. Even if they delay the start of the next season until December 1st as has been suggest that’s barely two months off between the finals and the start of the season. Players already complain the off season is too short so I just don’t see this happening. Also keep in mind teams like the warriors have said they are already operating like it’s the off season. Those players have been off for two months and already eliminated from the playoff, you want to talk about uninspired basketball from those teams?

From what I have read the league may want to give a few of the fringe playoff teams a chance to get in so they might do some play in games for the last playoff spot or two. If they do this it sounds like the first round would be shortened to a 5 game series to try to get the playoffs ending around September 1st.

Also I have more of a personal dislike of lebron than a fan but I really don’t see how resuming the playoffs would be giving him a ring lol. All I know is that my raptors are still currently the defending champs!!!

Hopefully they can find a way to finish the season. This year was great it had the most parity I've seen in a long time. I don't think any team was just going to walk in and take home the trophy. The West had only 4 games separating the #2 seed from #7. The Lakers and the Bucks are the favorites but I still think it's wide open.

Would take anything at this point, but I think the season has already concluded.

Simply not enough time for most to get in real basketball shape to put out a product the NBA would be happy with.

Plus Silver's been known to take bold stances and go against the grain.

The reincarnation of the lockout year. People will forgive and forget.

Will be looking forward to next year.

Are you saying it is similar to Aesop Fables "Fox and the Grapes" rationalization?

Correct, as a huge golf fan I'm ok with them opening. I was talking about the hobby sports, baseball, basketball and football. In Illinois restaurants/bars can't even open until June 26th (at the earliest). I just can't see how they can allow bulls players to practice in close contact but won't allow me and my friend to have a beer at a bar.

Personally I'd be fine if they started back up as I don't think the players are an at risk group, but if they do it will be a 99.9% financial decision. Jaylen Brown was just on Sportscenter and said the league makes most of it's money from the playoffs and that's why they want to jump straight into the playoffs so their BRI is enough to have a "solid" salary cap next season.
