I do. But its personal items like clothes or maybe even bats. Bases, dirt, stadium seats, etc are a stretch and I stay far from those.

Those are awesome! Congrats on those great pickups!
I still think relics are still a great collectible. The more people that don’t like them means cheaper prices for me as a buyer! But sucks for me as a seller! So I see both sides of it! |

I think jumbo patches, auto or not, where it's just one solid color are the worst. Those look like they could be cut from some Hanes underwear. |

The question is too broad: we all know most relics from flagship, heritage, ginter etc have minimal demand. Patches and multi colored portions of the jersey are still somewhat popular based on the player. Triple threads base single color relic of trout sell for $50+ - most others not much. But triple threads patches and low numbered relics sell well for most players. It’s mainly based on aesthetics and numbering and the player.

The early-mid 2000's are good ones but they grew old on me after that. It's something now days that single color swatch is worth less than a buck. When I somewhat got back in the hobby I tried to pick up a bunch of Yankees relics. I tried to make sure the jersey the player was wearing in the photo matched the relic.

I actually like relic cards over signature cards because they sometimes have a story behind them. Relics with those MLB Authentication stickers or that can be traced to the original Jersey are sweet. With that said, I'm more concerned about the design than anything else, outside of a select few players a relic piece or signature in itself is not enough to get me to collect. They're wildly overproduced.
Some of my favorites: A piece from the highly publicized/debated purchase of a Ruth home jersey by Donruss from Ruth's daughter: ![]() A bat knob from Rod Carew that can be traced to Heritage Auction's sale of a bat likely used in the 1983 all star game. PSA used this bat on their website as their example of how to identify authentic Carew used bats. (the white residue on the bottom is from Panini pulling off the PSA sticker). ![]() This one is more personal to me since I was able to attend the home run derby that year. Stanton didn't participate in the derby and Triple Threads all star cards are just from weekend workouts, not from the game itself, but I love the patch and how it features my home state. The limestone brick in the background design of the card is a nice homage by Topps to Target Field

Relic cards are one of the biggest jokes ever. It's destroying items to put in a card. And in some cases people will spend more money on part of a bat when they could buy a while size game used bat for that price.
Also in several of the cases, the items are also fakes or misrepresented (like a jersey worn for 2 seconds at a promo or something and called used but you think game used). I also recently caught one of the card companies selling a relic(the name brand from the bat) that they listed as "Game Used by said player". Yet I used to own the actual bat when it was whole and it was only game issued and showed no use. When I called out said company they said it came with an LOA stating game use but wouldn't provide me with a copy of it. They also said it came from X auction house with X letter. But i could find no record of it selling at said auction house. Sadly it sold for $1,500. |

I keep Tigers relics but not too much else. Had a Mantle jersey with pinstripe that I pulled out of 2008 Update but sold it a few years back - that's probably the only non-Detroit piece I kinda wish now I hadn't sold.
