I think you can get a lower grade Jordan RC and an on-card UNC Auto for 5K. (Just looked an yes its possible)

I don't think many Bulls Autos are around that. Maybe a sticker if you're lucky. Or just a higher grade RC, OR sub in a TC Lebron RC for one of those 2 above. Some of the newer guys may get a better return, but at a greater risk.

Unless he's going to pay you a cut from selling the card why do it? Also easy way to lose a friend if the card price would go south and he losses money and blames you.

I think the easiest and safest way to go is the highest grade Jordan Fleer RC or LeBron Topps Chrome RC that you can find. If you find the right deal, you can get a Jordan Fleer PSA 7 or LeBron Chrome BGS 9.5 a little north of $5k.

Either option requires very little explaining to your friend so that when he decides to sell he knows exactly what he has.

Obviously... your friend, his money... but like some others have said, I'd steer clear of making the purchase for him and just provide him with some options and then let him determine where his $$$ goes.

Any “Brandon Cookz to 99” should suffice

Two things. After recently watching the new movie/documentary -- THE LAST LEONARDO, in which a rich Russian ends up buying a painting that may or may not be Leonardo da Vinci (he told his right-hand man to find him nice art to invest in). The guy said he'd pay up to $130 mil for this painting. So he did. Guess what? That "friend" actually got the painting for $80 mil and kept the difference!

But I don't think you're going to lose a friend if this goes south. He obviously has money to burn, and just thinks it would be fun to do this. I have had friends like this that, when walking thru a casino, would just throw a thousand dollars down on one hand of black jack as we were walking out, just to see what happens.

Now, that being said -- I have an OJ Simpson rookie card, and a Walter Payton rookie card, NOT GRADED, but probably would be graded a 7. I'd probably sell one of those for $5,000. Message me (also, lots and lots of vintage basketball cards I'll be selling soon, if you want a cross section of Wilt, Alcindor, Oscar, West, Maravich, Erving cards...that would equal $5,000. Again, PM me.

ONE of those for 5k?!?! Lmao. That's very nice of you considering they're worth about 1k for the pair.

Sounds like a Death Merchant point of view, but hey, it just advice.

Easy one for me.
I would buy as many key rookie cards from the 80s Star sets, and hold until PSA grade them (which will happen under Nat Turner).
