And that was how they got out of the sale. It should have taken 2 days to get there. 1 or 2 days to go through review. And yet in 16 hours it went from shipping label printed to failing.

All without the package ever being picked up, so the tracking shows.

You’re assuming fedex was up to date. When I can get on my laptop I will pull the tracking from mine and show you. It was at the authenticators facility in 24 hours and 24 hours later it showed it failed and was already shipped out to me. It looks suspicious, but having a very similar situation with mine tells me there’s some lagging info between fedex and the authenticator.

There had to be a shipping label and the authenticator had to receive the item, or they would have never posted it failed. They would have posted item not received.

For sure there wouldn't be as much to it as actually grading. But its still a matter of waiting in line. eBay understands this, which is why they state it will take 1 or 2 days to pass authenticity, once its received by them.

There are nearly $3BIL in sports card sales on ebay each year. Not to mention other categories that would have cards go through this process, like Nonsport or Pokemon.

Even if sent Next Day Air, there was only about 16 hours from label to rejection (as stated) and I doubt they were sitting around with nothing else to review, until that card showed up in the mail.

It was a big enough problem, for this service to be created. While most things go through without issues. This should pick up those graded cards that are in fake slabs, are no longer in the condition the slabs show (water damaged, cracked cases, were dropped and card inside got damaged ETC)

It was created to both save buyers from getting junk. And to save sellers from returns, due to buyers remorse. As many buyers would make up issues to force the return.
