Anyone have any of these cards:

These were standard card size promos for club appearances by a DJ collective in Los Angeles, maybe 20 years ago. All featuring the greatest jazz-funk-hip hop-R&B artists of the 20th century. Though I once pawed through a small stack of them (in Amsterdam, of all places), I have only one, for Jimmy Smith. Would love to discover some more.

Alas, the webpage hosting the picture I found has an expired certificate so web safety protocols don’t allow it to be displayed. You can see the image safely enough via a Google search for ‘ “root down” baseball cards ‘ which shows a few of them. There was a poster produced showing the complete set as well, but there is no trace of it on the internet today. The DJs, etc. behind the brief downtown LA scene were closely associated with the band Breakestra but the whole thing is a perfect example of the word “ephemeral”

Don't know if anyone else would like this but I found I enjoyed the search to find the source for all of the Wu-Tang cards...using small details from jerseys and the background stadiums to take a trip through late 80s baseball. Here's the full list of source cards:

Ghostface Killah - 1986 Topps Rickey Henderson #500
ODB - 1986 Topps Chris Brown #383
U-God - 1986 Topps Garry Maddox #585
Inspectah Deck - 1978 Topps Santo Alcala #321
Raekwon The Chef - 1990 Topps Deion Sanders #61
Gza - 1989 Topps Gary Sheffield #343
Method Man - 1985 Topps Dave Winfield #705
Rza - 1990 Bowman Tony Fernandez #524
Masta Killa - 1990 Topps Juan Gonzalez #331

Solid work, my friend. I only guessed the Garry Maddox correctly.
