I'm fairly confident mlb would fix the games so this doesn't happen. They couldn't deal with the humiliation of how bad the ratings would be.

That’s a tired joke. While true for the regular season, go back and watch YouTube clips of the ‘97 and ‘03 World Series. It’s a packed house.

Maybe the marlins could get some fans, but Rays won't. Granted its an afternoon game, but that place is far from full. WBC would draw better.

In 03 at least, wasn't a lot of that made up of Yankees fans?

Stadium was packed in ‘97 too. As far as Yankees fans in ‘03… there were probably a lot of Yankees fans there. There’s tons of Yankees fan in Florida, unfortunately.

Imagine if the Rangers had a healthy Degrom and Scherzer. We might have had a chance to go all the way.

Not that surprising really. A team that relies heavily on analytics will do well over a large sample, but that doesn't necessarily work over small samples.

Since 2020, Tampa has gone 12 - 14 in the Playoffs

2022 AL Wild Card Series Cleveland Guardians Lost, 0-2
2021 AL Division Series Boston Red Sox Lost, 1-3
2020 World Series Los Angeles Dodgers Lost, 2-4
AL Championship Series Houston Astros Won, 4-3
AL Division Series New York Yankees Won, 3-2
AL Wild Card Series Toronto Blue Jays Won, 2-0

That's not Awful.

I bet the Rangers ML today, but will fade the last 2 games. Monty was the only pitcher I felt comfortable betting on for either team this series. If I had to bet game 2 I'd lean Eflin and go Rays ML as Eovaldi has been going in the wrong direction over his last 5-7ish starts... but I'll just stay away.

With that said, I bet Blue Jays today and to win the series so hoping that turns around. Thought the injuries and players hobbling to the finish line for the Twins would hold them back... but Royce has other plans.

AL East under .5 runs was the play.
