https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1528802 My personal take? He’s been an easy stay away since his call-up and nothing has changed since then. Others feel differently. |

Elly being mentioned in the same thread as Ohtani, Trout, Acuna, Soto, Jude, etc. is hilarious.

So… lots of pre-call-up excitement… I guess speed + power combo was the hope??? But high K% and poor contact kind of ruined it, this year? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did a full 50 the last couple of weeks for an article.
50. Alex Bregman 49. Francisco Alvarez 48. Riley Greene 47. Triston Casas 46. J.T. Realmuto 45. Michael Hattis II 44. Jordan Walker 43. Luis Arraez 42. Ozzie Albies 41. Manny Machado 40. Zack Greinke 39. Max Fried 38. Carlos Correa 37. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 36. Francisco Lindor 35. Trea Turner 34. Corey Seager 33. Jose Altuve 32. Gerrit Cole 31. Anthony Volpe 30. Kyle Tucker 29. Fernando Tatis Jr. 28. Austin Riley 27. Jose Ramirez 26. Nolan Arenado 25. Max Scherzer 24. Justin Verlander 23. Clayton Kershaw 22. Matt Olson 21. Paul Goldschmidt 20 Spencer Strider 19. Rafael Devers 18. Adley Rutschman 17. Luis Robert 16. Yordan Alvarez 15. Bo Bichette 14. Pete Alonso 13. Elly De La Cruz 12. Bobby Witt Jr. 11. Freddie Freeman 10. Gunnar Henderson 9. Corbin Carroll 8. Julio Rodriguez 7. Mookie Betts 6. Juan Soto 5. Bryce Harper 4. Ronald Acuna Jr. 3. Mike Trout 2. Aaron Judge 1. Shohei Ohtani Figuring out number two was the hardest spot for me. I think I might swap Harper and J.Rod. I'm going to keep the list going for a while. Evan Carter is a big missing name, but I'm sure there are others. |

He's 6'5", plays SS, has power and speed. He's the type the maybe can punch above his weight in the hobby (literally, since he is a toothpick), but he was even over priced a little as a prospect. Then he came out on fire and his price tripled. Since then he's cooled off and may even be down for the year. He's going to have to step up his game quite a bit to maintain his price level.

If hobby demand equals price, Trout is still 4x Acuna, 5x Judge, and more than that vs everybody else except Ohtani.
If it's who is up the most this year, then you're talking Acuna and probably Corbin Carroll. I'd say that list is pretty spot on, although I'd swap Trout and Judge.

If you go by BCA price, then Elly is right where he belongs. The hobby loves him right now.

Then the hobby is stupid and needs a reality check.

I find it funny people are outraged that Elly is mentioned in the same breath as these other people when they question who is the top 5 relevant guys not who are the top 5 guys or who are good baseball players. The question literally is who are the top 5 hobby relevant guys?

I for one am not a huge Elly believer, I think he will make a couple of all star games If he hits his ceiling and will be a good major league player. I was just answering the question about who was a top 5 hobby relevant player right now.
