My current list is as follows:
1. 1956 Topps Mickey Mantle (~PSA 4) 2. 1969 Topps Lew Alcindor (~PSA 6) 3. 1955 Topps Roberto Clemente (PSA 6) 4. 1986 Michael Jordan (~PSA 7) 5. T206 Ty Cobb (PSA 1.5) I’m sure that I won’t end up with all of these before the end of 2024, but hopefully the top 3 at least. |

Over $1200 in funds now and it is really hard not to spend it on a Nolan Ryan rookie.

I actually have a Ryan auto, not on his RC, but just one of his vintage cards, that has been authenticated by both BAS and JSA, with stickers on the back. I'll be sending it off soon to PSA/DNA for the trifecta! lol |

More Red Sox prewar. Might try to do all the t206 cards in non mainstream backs.
Continue to upgrade my 75 mini set. Just got a Brett SGC 9 which I am super stoked about. SGC cards go for a heavy discount over PSA cards in this set which I still feel is undervalued. Eventually it will go for a significant premium over the regular size set, the way it used to be. Would love a 52 Jackie. |

Unfortunately I am going to have to spend 2024 paying off bills and big cards will have to wait. I thought it would be 2025/26 before my CyberTruck would be available, but I am one of the first 1000 people that will get it. This will be my last car purchase for decades, so I will only do small purchases this year.

2 big cards for me are the 52 Topps of Hoyt Wilhelm and Eddie Mathews even though I know my chances of ever owning either one, especially Mathews, are slim to none.

Save up some money. You can probably get a PSA 1 Poor copy of Wilhelm for under $1,000. Not sure about Eddie though.

I would like to get a few 1949 Bowman baseball in PSA 2-5.
And, I’d like to get some HOFers from the 1955 Bowman baseball set in PSA 2-5 as well. Last edited by robert67; 02-25-2024 at 09:47 PM. |

My White Whale is the final piece to my T205 Red Sox team set, which I want with all different backs. I want a Hindu back, which only appears on three Red Sox players: Cicotte, Engle and Stahl. Based on the population numbers for the TPGs, this might never happen for me, but it's a hunt I'm willing to try!

I've been targeting a 56 Koufax...just got it in today.
I think I'd like to go for everything except his RC, and have a whole line of Koufaxes in Sgc 3.5-4.5

guys like Marion Motley, Dick "the night train" Lane, and Gale Sayers. also, might have to pick up the rookies of some of these guys that had two cards, like Sid Luckman. baseball, i'll simplify it to only a few key cards here and there, anything pre-war that catches my interest. i would like to add a Buck Weaver card for example, but there isn't much choice out there.

I'm just getting into collecting vintage, but I've got some money earmarked to chase the cards below. Notable omissions include Willie and Mickey - I still haven't decided which of their 50's cards (that fit my budget) I like the best.
1951 Bowman Ted Williams 1951 Bowman Larry Doby 1952 Topps Monte Irvin 1953 Topps Jackie Robinson 1953 Topps Satchel Paige 1953 Bowman Warren Spahn 1953 Bowman Minnie Minoso 1954 Red Heart Stan Musial 1955 Topps Ernie Banks 1957 Topps Roberto Clemente 1958 Topps Hank Aaron

For me, I am changing my approach to collecting this year. The past few years, I have been trying to complete sets and collect some of the more affordable cards I want. With the prices of cards continuing to come back down, I am going to start trying to target my biggest wants this year. My son and I will be attending the National for the first time, so hopefully I can score some big hits there. My biggest wants for this year and beyond are(in no particular order):
1952-56 Topps Jackie Robinson 1954 Topps Ernie Banks 1957 Topps Frank Robinson 1963 Topps Pete Rose 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan 1961 Fleer Jerry West 1969 Topps Lew Alcindor 1970 Topps Pete Maravich 1957 Topps Johnny Unitas 1957 Topps Paul Hornung 1958 Topps Jim Brown 1965 Topps Joe Namath 1971 Topps Terry Bradshaw 1967 Topps Jacques Lamaire 1973 OPC Larry Robinson It remains to be seen how much I can chip away at this list, but hopefully I can at least knock a few off this year. |
