Listed consistently as a July 10th release across all sites that are semi-reliable for this kind of thing from what I see…

Hobby pushed to July 19th, and word is it might even be a little bit of a longer wait than that. Will be lucky if we get this in July I think.

That's cutting it REALLY close if the big boys are hoping to have this available at this year's National...

If I remember correctly, 2023 Select was released on the same week as the National. I remember seeing people in the hobby opening a case of it on Friday. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same thing for Prizm 2024.

When do the White Sparkle packs go to auction typically?

IIRC last year there was about three months between hobby release and the white sparkle dutch auction.

I guess it could change for 2024 but I'd expect something similar unless we hear otherwise.

Hope this comes out soon, Jade is on the box so guessing she gets rookies but she's already debuted, won and lost the tag titles now and it feels Punk has been back forever even if he's just getting back to being physical. Point being around Mania would of been a perfect time to release, around the National is also pretty good, but any later and this won't have proper buzz, even worse if it got pushed back to after Summerslam. I mean one of the new parallels is the Wrestlemania 40 lol it's cool but less appealing the further you are from the event especially if it's an odd numbering not that low like #/40

I know the market is exceptionally cold on them and UD really screwed the pooch on release dates- but do you think most people would just not count the Jade AEW cards as her actual RCs

I think many card collectors won't count the AEW cards as her rookies, even though they are a major promotion and Upper Deck is well known/legitimate. Even though its not a 1:1 comparison, I think collectors will view them similar to how sports fans view college cards of players - almost like pre-rookies but not as popular once the player is in the NFL or NBA uniform. They will still be seen as legitimate, and the hardcore collector will want them, but so many WWE fans look down on AEW they won't want her AEW cards with the AEW branding. So they will maintain some value but will be less desirable.

Good question, but as Joshi said I kind of agree, I'd compare it in wrestling terms to those rare, Hulk Hogan japanese rookies vs the Wrestling All-Stars. Another reason I'd argue the Prizm is I don't think UD even differentiated rookies with the "RC" in their products, although I could be wrong. Thats pretty huge as WWE will def put the "RC" and many don't like rookies if they aren't noted as such even if it came out first. Another reason would be she's never been in WWE and still fairly new, Cody has already been in WWE and would I want an Adam Copeland AEW rookie lol no, but if she joined in the next year and Julia Hart had a WWE RC would I be mad? No wrestling is hard to compare to other sports rookie wise, plus imo if you have the gold Prizm/other parallels it will just bring all eyes to that rookie overall, I mean what parallels does UD AEW have that people care about compared to established Prizm parallels?

The only possible answer I think to that is PMG. Her Red PMG sold for $320 recently and her /10 auto for $700, its an odd thing as PMG means a lot in other sports/fandoms but I don't know the full crossover with WWE collectors. I think those cards will maintain their value due to PMG being a well known collector card but I still think overall the Prizm will be seen by the majority of WWE collectors as her true rookie.

I agree but that's more comparable to a Color Blast to me, good example as you'd probably take a PMG of the same wrestler over a Color Blast any day (rightfully so), my reasoning is a gold Prizm /10 of the same wrestler is way more established and will likely do way better than whatever /10 parallel UD has if there is one or the pyro or whatever ones they have. It was one of my weaker points lol but I just meant long-term I think the Prizm would prevail as what the avg collector will want...and can obtain. I think the rare UD cards could be on a way smaller scale similar to the Star Rookie Jordan, not the prevelant rookie but rare and what super collectors will be after.

hmm interesting food for thought, can't say I disagree! Wish AEW cards were doing better; sometimes it feels like Tristar TNA back in the day had more legitimacy among collectors lol

That said this is a WWE topic. I noticed preorders for a hobby box for this dropped to $255, it was $250 before also. Any one think it'll go lower?

I am pretty bad at this: I didnt preorder '22 Chronicles because I swore it'd drop in price and it never did. I preordered '23 Chronicles and it dropped a lot lol.

Last year's Prizm I got in after it dropped but it took awhile and went back up and stayed there, so I got lucky on that one

So, just over one week out from supposed release and:

-No checklist
-No indication of FOTL dropping anytime soon

Would love to be proven wrong, but it's feeling like another delay is likely...

Not saying there wont be another delay but the last few releases did not have proper checklists out before release date.

I'm just waiting for blasters to randomly pop up and the first cracked ice Jade/Punks going for dumb amounts since hobby isn't out like the numbered Chronicles blaster exclusives lol

I don't think preorders will go lower but I mean I'm no psychic. I think it could go up if Panini prices it at $300+ which is possible given I imagine Undercard will be around $125-150 since it has an auto and that's usually half hobby. It could drop after release as WWE/UFC hype have both died down given you still have products releasing with crazy popular rookies like Stroud, Bedard, and Wemby. The thing is next year won't have all those so people could turn back to wrestling and prices rise, also I dont know this but if it ends up being the last Prizm set I think it could rise in the long-term. There could also be a lull between when Panini loses the license and Topps starts producing (or not UFC was pretty immediate) where it could rise, when the lawsuit happened an we got no new product for awhile and didn't know if any was coming, I'm pretty sure I saw older boxes rise a bit, and Prizm would be a perfect candidate. I could be wrong but I feel similar about this to the way I did about Topps Undisputed 2021, possible final set of that name under that brand and it'll grow in time , those boxes definitely rose although it's obviously apples to oranges content wise

Is there a standard reason we can assume for the continual delay in release? Obviously, Panini won't give a reason.

Who knows. I recall that 2022 Select also got very close to the original release date before being moved back a time or two. I imagine it could be anything.

What was certain was that no FOTL on the Panini website as of yet meant this was NOT coming out Friday; happy to at least have that confirmation, finally.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it won't get delayed again.

It's not just WWE that is being delayed but NFL Optic has been continually delayed since March and I think this is the new normal
