I agree that it is the regular season so it's not like the championship was determined last night, but the Heat know that if any team in the East is going to stop them, it's going to be the Pacers and no matter what the Heat or their fans say, last night was a playoff atmosphere and the heat got embarrassed including Lebron who had his worst shooting night of the season.
I would agree more about the game not meaning much to the heat if they already were ahead in the East by several games, but they were trailing the Pacers already by 2 games.

Indiana needs homecourt for the eventual game 7 that will happen between these two teams in the Eastern Conference Finals. |

No knock on the Heat here, they are a fantastic team but come on now...to think these guys are stepping on the court against their top conference rival and not caring or playing to win is nonsense. Its not the playoffs but these are professionals and I really don't see them not caring. They know the media was all over this game and they know Indy is real deal. An early season game against Detroit or Boston? Sure, you might not get up for that and but Indy?
Hats off to the Pacers, they look legit this year and have a real plan for Miami. They are everything I wish my Knicks were. Looking forward to that ECF series assuming everyone gets there healthy. |

Solid game.... Lebron had an off night and we definitely lack size.... I'd love to see Oden get some mins...
Congrats to the pacers.... They'll still never beat the Heat in a 7 game series, regardless of home court advantage. |

Pacers got massively better with Scola, Watson, Copeland signings and still have Granger to come back yet. The Heat have no answer for Hibbert. Last edited by bradjames12; 12-11-2013 at 09:24 AM. |

No knock on Hibbert but man, can you imagine what a prime Shaq/Ewing/Hakeem would do in today's NBA if Hibbert is someone that teams can't deal with? The current NBA just lacks that prototypical post up, back the basket big man that dominated the 90s. SHame Dwight has no work ethic and can't figure out the post, even with the Dream coaching him.

Haha!! Thanks for the back up.....maybe he was referring to the fella that said "give em the championship" as a troller? Anywho....the Heat are the Champs and have the best player on the planet.

thinking more about this -
no matter who you like, it is awesome that this season lacks the same feeling of inevitability that last year brought. SEVERAL teams could well win this thing. a ton of stars, a ton of good teams - and ALL have insane storylines: -can lebron carry an aging wade and heat team on his back and establish himself even more as the new jordan? -can okc finally win one as youngsters? -are the pacers the new guard? -can the spurs shock us again? -can the warriors get lights-out hot and demolish the league in the final month? the NBA is in a good place right now, even if the east sucks as a whole. a lot is right at the moment in basketball world.

Today the heat don't care. I guarantee that. Of course they wanted to win during the game, they are competitive but do you honestly think the Heat are thinking today, 'oh no we lost to the pacers last night'. lol thats laughable. |

lol Heat fans say it how it is. Regular season means NOTHING to this heat team anymore. We saw how the streak effected the team last year and once you win a couple championships all you need to do is get to the playoffs and be healthy. Who cares about a game in december. |

The Pacers winning last night gives them a boost towards their goal of securing home court advantage in the Playoffs. Quit pretending like the Pacers were popping bottles last night. They expected to win and they did.

I was at the game last night and outside of the poor officiating the game was good. Pacers just wanted it more at the end. This was odd to me because the Heat walked off the floor like po'd 5 year olds. Miami fans would be up on their soap box talking about how they are still on top blah blah blah if they had won last night. However, they didn't and play it off as the game didn't matter, I completely agree with those statements as someone stated above...

Any true heat fan knows the regular season means nothing and the main goal is to win a championship. With two in a row and how the regular season almost lost that last one anyone with basketball knowledge knows the heats goal for the regular season is to finish it healthy and in the playoffs. Thats it... |

the heat kind of have a 98 bulls feel to me this year.
it looks like the end of an era, and it looks like their only goal is to win a title before moving on. you know what is insane? lebron finishes this year as a 29 year old and still in his prime. i wanted to hate lebron, but even the concept of a player like him is crazy. you know what was impossible? lebron james living up to the hype. ...and lebron james lived up to the hype.

I done with people stating "oh this doesn't matter it's regular season." It is literally the only thing people are stating about the Trailblazers. The Blazers have beat the Thunder, Pacers, Spurs and Warriors, but almost every time, the excuse for it is "who cares it's regular season bro" Really? If the Blazers had lost all of those, I could probably not even state "who cares it's just regular season" without hate, but just because it's the Blazers winning, it comes down to that freaking excuse. It's a crappy one too, due to the fact of which all players are at their best at this point of the season.

They doubled PG and played Bosh,LeBron and wade heavy minutes... As soon as the game was over they ran off the court... Yes I agree, when the season is over it will mean nothing.... BUT, the next time they meet I can guarantee Miami want the win.... If they can't get it done next time, when they meet in the playoffs, they will feel like the underdogs regardless of championships... The Pacers are true contenders this year and as long as they stay healthy, they should beat the Heat in a under 7 games, if it goes to 7, Miami will pull it off again...lol |

Many post I agree with and and many I disagree with.
The Pacers have stated all along that their intention has been to secure the #1 seed in the East. They won a big (but not necesarrily significant) regular season game and have shown that they're the main obstacle for the Heat in the East. This team can compete and their bigs are very problematic for the Heats undersized lineup. In the end it's almost a given that the Eastern Conference finals will come down to the Heat vs Pacers, so this was an interesting early season matchup. Nothing more. Lebron is still the best player on the planet. The Miami Heat are still the 2 time reigning champs, but the Pacers are a very talented team which provides matchup problems for the Heat. If the Pacers are able to come out of the East this season, I think it will be because of strong team play and the impact of Roy Hibbert & David West down low. |

Heat always gain steam heading into the playoffs. Both I nor they probably put much stock into this loss.
I do love the Pacers as a young, up and coming team, but betting against Lebron in the postseason when it counts is just tossing money in the trash. Where was Oden? His size would have given Hibbert some problems. Or is he back on a hospital bed? |
