I agree. You'd think he's fallen off a cliff in the past few months.

Mike Trout says hi, and Howie was also from the Angels farm system.

trout, calhoun, richards, howie, aybar, adenhart, shoemaker, weaver, cron, trumbo, segura and they dont bring much else up, because they sign FA and lose their picks. They have been fine. Drafted harvery and didnt sign him.

Dumb move, the original move the Dodgers made actually made more sense. Howie is awesome, but 1 year of Howie instead of 5 years of Heaney wont be worth it.

Kaleb Cowart, Taylor Lindsay, Tyler Keher, Cam Bedroisan (wasnt supposed to be a RP) Chevy Clarke, Ryan Bolden and CJ Cron.

2010 to 2013

You get MAYBE a poor mans 1B and a RP from your first round picks.

What do the Red Sox hafta do with this? Why are you defensive?

The Angels continually have one of the lowest rated farm systems/drafts according to the guys who research this stuff. They dont do well in Latin America either.

Its a bad system, and it doesnt produce like other big market teams do

Yes it does, but they don't keep their prospects. They sign players and trade for them.

2010: 2010 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Picks in the MLB June Amateur Draft | Baseball-Reference.com

Kole Calhoun was a great pick, but thats it....him and a RP from the entire draft

2011 draft: 2011 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Picks in the MLB June Amateur Draft | Baseball-Reference.com

CJ Cron only one to reach the majors, a decent amount of the picks are out of the system

2012: 2012 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Picks in the MLB June Amateur Draft | Baseball-Reference.com

Relievers, not to mention some of them are already out of the system!

Wont count 2013, since its too early but thats a terrible run for the Angels

Red Sox are big into Latin America, the Angels are not and they throw away draft picks like they dont matter.

I stand by my statement, the Angels farm system produces nothing. Yes Trout is the BIGGEST outlier in the entire universe, but when you essentially get nothing from your last 5 drafts and never dabble in international free agents it is scary.

Cant always throw money at the problems and this is a good deal for the Angels by the way

They have given away many picks by signing FA's. That's a big part of it. They have also traded away a few like skaggs and corbin, then got skaggs back. It's better than you think for what they have had to work with. Segura was very good. Drafted harvey, but couldnt sign him.

Lots of off season moves for many teams. I like it

So they got an impact MLB player in just a couple of years, and you're complaining

A. Untrue B. Cron can be very good

Every team needs a bullpen, RJ Alvarez is a good arm
Wont count 2013, since its too early but thats a terrible run for the Angels
My commentary

To be fair he moved Gordon for Kendrick PLUS three others, can't undervalue those other guys if we're going to value Heaney like the people want to in this thread.

Chris Hatcher struck out close to ten per nine and walked under two. Austin Barnes is a very solid piece, and Enrique did well in AAA.

trout, richards, calhoun, shoemaker, grichuk, segura, skaggs, corbin, cron is a solid group of prospects. 2013 I don't think they had a first round. Think they got hunter green in between 1st-2nd. 2014 was solid, with 2-3 good young arms. Wish they had signed harvey.
