I love how a George McCloud from this set goes for more than a Magic Johnson auto. I know it is a SP.

McCloud was one of the few Autographics I pulled as a kid, didn't find out until much later on it was short printed. Got it in a pack of 96-97 E-X2000 along with the Iverson rc.

How much do they go for now? I still have it.

It’s been a tough one to get that’s for sure

I hardly see the mcclouds actually sell, so i still find it hard to gauge a price on one. Let me know how much you’d be looking for on it if you consider letting it go

I think I'm about to do just that.

Another strange thing about the McCloud is that I think the black ink is actually more rare than his blue. Usually it's the other way around, no?

Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? I see the Blues on ebay atm are listed anywhere from $175-300, so I'm still a bit unsure about how to valuate this Black.

I found this thread where sonic311 mentions paying a "hefty" price, but I wish I knew the exact amount...

No disrespect to Mr McCloud but who would've thought his card would be the last piece needed for this Prestigious Set. My pockets are pretty empty now as I had to pay a hefty price for this.
So tough finding the black ink. I actually found the Blue Ink early on in my set chase and I like that one because he added his Number below his auto.

I remember reading that in the past as well. Good luck turning that thing into some cash.

Thanks, I hope I can.

Can someone elaborate on this for me, though? So if McCloud is SP, but his "standard" auto is blue rather than black, is the black SSP? Or is the McCloud SP designation ONLY for his black autos?

BTW I threw it up on my ebay if anyone wants to the see the pics, don't shoot me for the listing price, I honestly have no way to gauge this thing.

It is indicated that the McCloud card is a SP, meaning its the print run is lower than most of the other cards within the black/regular set. However, there is no indication (not that I am aware of at least) whether or not its print run is also less than its blue ink parallel.

Also kindly note that some black/regular McCloud cards have jersey number signed as well (all blue ink McCloud cards have jersey number signed, if I remember correctly).

Nice pull!

I remember seeing an auction on eBay ending around $50 a couple of years ago. I traded a Magic auto around the same time and checked eBay prices. The Magic was selling around $40. I tought it was funny.

On another site, reported sales are $60 and $70, but those are from 2012.

Just to be a compliment of the comment above. Here are my two copies, with and without jersey number respectively. I forgot the exact price that I paid for each, but am 10000% sure that both of them fall into the price range that 8collector34 mentioned.

So cool that you're putting this set together, it's so iconic. Good luck!

Awww man that's a bit disappointing, even for a few years ago.

I gotta reach out to sonic311 to see just how much he paid. I had in my mind that his "hefty" pricetag was substantially more than that. Guess it's still possible since he bought his more recently.

I thought Mccloud black was $100 and Blue was $200
Same for Rod Strickland
Charles Oakley was Sp'd but went for 1/2 the price of the other guys

Nice Antoine. That's one of his best cards in my eyes.

Eventually I'd like to start working on the 96-97 blue ink set. Prices have jumped on these quite a bit in the past 4-5 years.
