If post 16 is what did it, maybe its time to start banning members for all of the very risqué photos being posted of nearly nude women? Id be willing to bet many members or visitors to this site would find those to be of poor taste as well.
Wasn't #16, see post #39. Quote of his deleted post.

Well....I guess you have to kind of consider the source? We all know the guy was goofing around, not sure why that got him banned.

Fo sho, man. It's more in fitting with his bondage motif tbh, he just strayed away from it some.

I understand he was on his eleventh life and all, but this place is going to be a ghost town if comments like that are considered verboten because of people without a sense of humor and/or people who can't just ignore things they don't find funny. It's interesting that political posts, sexual orientation jokes, etc. are either deleted without punishment or ignored but somehow d2r's fairly innocuous comments crossed the line.

I'm with you on this. I definitely see how if it was reported the mods could be backed into a corner, but I've definitely seen worse on here.

Call me crazy but I don't think "jokes" alluding to rape or kidnapping or torture are innocuous. I'm fairly new here so I might not "get" him, but from the sounds of it, this is his schtick and it's gotten him in hot water before. Ideally, he would have realized that kind of "humor" leads to trouble here and refrained from making such comments. After apparently a few chances, he still doesn't seem to get it.

I'm just as surprised as everyone else. One thing that most people are forgetting is that his comments were made in the "mainstream" baseball section and not in the off-topic where they usually are. That, as much as anything, likely contributed to his banishment. Anyone who has spent any time in the ot section knows that there is more leeway over there than here. Personally I don't think that a NSFW baseball groupie thread would fly in this section. However, it would be interesting however long it lasted.

It has been said numerous times before, D2R made many real contributions to the forum. I learned things from him. I also rolled my eyes at many things he said and laughed at many others. When I first started lurking on these boards (before I joined), I didn't have any clue how to take him. It took a while. Newbies, and I don't consider myself one even with just a few posts, have to sit back and figure certain things out. It's called "getting the lay of the land". I still don't understand everything and am not ashamed to say that.

I don't think this thread is going to get him reinstated. However I wouldn't mind if he was. The real question I have is: did everyone locked in the cellar also go poof?

For what it's worth I also support his return. He really does contribute a ton on a lot of different levels… might offend some, but the humor that he brings makes these boards more pleasurable for most.

I'll just say that the number of different people rising to his defense (and I'm glad to join that rank) does speak well of the man.

That said, is it certain someone reported him? The mods do read the threads on their own, don't they?

Anyway, I hope to see him back sooner than later...
