Considering the comment I was replying to (+ the fact that I said "video games"), I'm talking about how people watch other people, I.e. YouTubers, play video games with added commentary.

My cousin watches guys like Pewdiepie (is that right?) play video games on YT. I just don't understand

What's the difference if it's watched live on TV or streaming on Twitch or YouTube? Or if it's recorded in some kids basement.

The difference is, the watchers have the ability and the opportunity to go out and buy the video game and play it. Obviously, they can't just go out and play the sport.

And with box breaks, the cards (teams/players) you bought are yours. You get the cards so you HAVE A REASON FOR WATCHING.

Unless you're watching tip/cheat/walkthrough videos, what's the point? Why would I want to watch *insert YouTuber* play Minecraft, when I can buy the game and have fun playing it myself?

why can't they go out an play a sport? Who's stopping them?

I love watching baseball, I also love playing baseball.

I love watching video games, I also love playing video games.

And surprise surprise I can't always jump on my PS4 and play! Maybe I watch it while taking a dump, or while at work. Or maybe I'm just not in the mood to play but I want to watch someone else play for a while. Why is that so weird to you?
