Edit: So the big two holdovers for Series 2 appear to be Corbin Carrol and Francisco Alvarez. Some other guys who could be in S2: Logan O'Hoppe, Bo Naylor, Josh Jung, Ezequiel Tovar.

Oswald Peraza, Ezequiel Duran, Liover Peguero, Cade Cavalli, Nolan Jones, Lenyn Sosa, Ivan Herrera, JJ Bleday, Josh Smith are really solid 2nd/3rd tier rookies as well

Guys come on now. Topps doesn't manipulate for their own gain. They have a very strict agreement w/ the players union. They follow it to the letter of the law. Topps is straight up. Come on.

What I observe each year and have argued for the past few here, is that (IMO) series 1 + series 2 should be considered in total .... they purposefully keep players out of series 1 to make each have some appeal, and I personally don't have any problem with it.

Update is like it always has been, a separate set of flagship that generally covers in-season updates. and series 1-2 should be considered one big checklist to cover the prior season WITH SOME NOTABLE EXCEPTIONS over the years.

for sure. and traditionally S2 has been very weak for Rookie Card content.

Are you suggesting a company shouldn't spread out the value of their product to make sure it will all sell? If you think they shouldn't save some top rookies for series 2 then you aren't too bright.

Looks like there are autos for Corbin Carroll, Francisco Alvarez, Josh Jung, Ken Waldichuk, Tyler Freeman, DL Hall, Drew Waters and Max Meyer who were all left out of the base set.

Miguel Vargas, Hunter Brown and Lenyn Sosa are all in the base set but have no autos. All of the other rookies of note that appear in the base set have at least 1 auto.

In that case, you can expect each to have a card in series 2 (cards 331-660 of Topps Flagship for 2023).

And very possible that Vargas, Brown, Sosa have autos on insert cards in the second half of the release.

I don’t know about the usual SP/SSP, but this is from Beckett:
All 330 cards also have tough Golden Mirror Image Variation Short Prints. These have a different photo as well as a golden back
