I wouldn't single those two out, it really was a team effort to get swept by the Cubs.

At the same time the Cubs played a great series, the deserved to sweep the Crew. Top down the whole batting order produced and the pitchers all threw strikes and didn't give the Brewers many chances, plus they fielded well too.

That's what I was referring to last night with his comments to Samardzija and also what he said about trying to kick their teeth in. There was clearly none of that last night on his behalf.

Was at the game tonight, super entertaining game, one of the better I've seen in recent years probably.

Really sucks to lose this one because the Brewers actually played pretty well. Can't seem to get any breaks that result in runs, great catches by Jay and especially Burjos.

Brewers are a bunch of chokers. They're not even going to make the playoffs

Maybe the Bucks will be more relevant now that the Brewers have imploded.

Brutal, but still tied record-wise for the last wild card spot. It's all going to come down to the pitching. Still a fairly favorable schedule on the rest of the way out, hopefully we can get on a roll.

I know its a ways out but it'd be very interesting to see who they'd go with in a 1 game playoff with how the pitching staff is looking...

Last night was the first night I seriously dreaded getting to Braun & Ramirez (or Ramirez & Braun in last nights case).

Neither of them should be in the starting lineup tonight.

As bad as things are, it's pretty sweet that the Brewers are only 1.5 game out of a playoff spot after going 1-13 in late August/early September.

You gotta think the Brewers are gonna have a little sort of hot streak before the season ends. I think if they can win two games in a row during this homestand it'll carry over to the road trip.

The schedule is good for the Brewers, going from St. Louis to Pittsburgh I believe? I would think they are up pretty well on the Pirates in the season series this year, iirc?

Uecker made this road trip, to StL at least, I figured he would.

Bases loaded. Top of the 11th, two outs. O and 2. Carlos Gomez shows bunt but pulls the bat back.

Joe Block almost didn't know what to say. Finally he commented "That would have surprised the Cardinals. It certainly did me."

I finally sent in a question to the Ask Bob email address. In the long run they didn't do the segment tonight. I asked "Bob, what was your favorite baseball card, yours or someone else?" I'd bet he's had that question before.

Mark Reynolds better never touch the field in a Brewers uniform again.

As a fan I'll keep hoping like crazy they make the playoffs but this team truly doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs.

The Brewers play an exciting brand of baseball! I think they will make some noise this year.
And this is why you shouldn't get excited about teams in April! Man...the Brewers looked like gangbusters back then...what the hell happened?

Lack of damage control. They could afford that first losing stretch pre-All-Star break of 1-11 but to have another one of 1-13 it's game over.

Also they still can't beat the Cardinals

Mark A. better clean house and fire RR with Melvin. Melvin has had way way to many chances and has used to many mangers as goats for his failing. So fire Melvin and bring in someone who knows how to draft better and won't overpay for average FA talent.

The starting pitchers should gang beat Roenicke....How many times does he pull a pitcher that is cruising. I understand pitch counts but a majority was because the ass clown has a pitcher for the 7/8 and KROD--thank god that bum is gone next year
Their farm system is still a joke, anyone that has had a hand in the last 5 years of the draft should be kicked in the junk--The Cardinals year after year continue to grow homegrown talent. We have a second basemen come up that wont be able to hit leftys and Khris Davis who looks more like Rob Deer but worse on Defense. Jimmy Nelson our minor league pitcher of the year is 2-8 and the two pitchers we drafted in 2011 in the first round are failing in the minors--Need to shake this club up from top to bottom.

Man I can't believe they took Gallardo out......the Pirates announcers called this one, the inning before Martin's HR they were talking about how they hope the Brewers brought in Broxton due to his terrible numbers vs the Pirates in his career and sure enough they did and paid for it. Two games in a row easy, avoidable mistakes cost them W's

You've just got to be kidding me about this last 30 days or so of play.

There's no manager in the league that would've thrown Gallardo back out there with his pitch count and with his spot leading of the top of the inning.

The pitching staff is still pretty fine compared to most teams in the league. The offense on the other hand needs some retooling. Can't have six guys that'll just hack away first pitch and ground out like 80% of the time.

Melvin should stay, 100% on that. RR shouldn't be fired but should be on the hot seat to start next season. Bruce Seid (rest in peace) should've been fired before this season with the first round picks that were wasted since 2009. Success stories like Gennett, Fiers, Davis, Nelson are results of area scouts and the minor league development.

For an attempt at positiveity, Brewers win the next two and then win the series in Cincy, along with the Pirates losing 3 of 4 in Atlanta (Pirates have bad road record and Braves good home record) and it's Brewers 1 GB with three games to go.
