So I called psa yesterday to check on my order that went into research on 3/8 and is still stuck in grading. They said it is on day 103.

Hit 45% on my 3/11 order that popped yesterday. Not as good as usual, but I'll take it with some of the percentages I see you guys hitting on here.

Has PSA said anything about how quickly they expect to get through the backlog?

Had three different bulk orders logged on 5/28 and all 3 popped last this week, 9/1, 9/2 and 9/4.

Little over 60 days each.

Just speculation, but everybody is getting hit pretty hard lately.

Gem rate of 80-90% may be a thing of the past.

I don’t have any insider info, but I don’t think they are going to “get through the backlog” any time soon. I see it as permanent based on the volume of cards being submitted. Literally tens of thousands of $5-10 raw cards being subbed every week means either submit at a higher level, or prepare to wait 4/5 months for bulk subs.

I sent 3 bulk 100+ card orders along with an 15 card cc last month alone. That's not a lot compared to some on here but its more than I have sent in a month period. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Implying there is or should be a "gem rate" is basically saying, yeah PSA doesn't grade cards based on their condition, and the whole industry is a scam that we're a part of. Maybe people with low gem rates should stop sending in cards with Cheetos prints on them. I'm mostly joking around, but c'mon. 10's should grade 10, and 9's should grade 9.

Last submission came back in July and received 10 of 11 Gems (all Prizm). The 1 that did not Gem had a print line that i missed so I agree with the grade received. I think we are seeing a lot of sub 10 grades due to the shear volume of cards being sent in daily (new and old customers). For example, guy came into the LCS yesterday with a prizm card with a 9 grade. He could not figure out or the life of him why it was not a 10 (has been grading a while). Shop owner takes a look and also can not see why it was not a 10. I asked to take a look at it and was able to spot the defect within 5 seconds. Not saying my evaluation is better than others, just saying a fresh set of unbiased eyes can spot some things you otherwise would miss. Again, I missed a big print line on my 1 that did not Gem. It stuck out like a sore thumb once I found it. Just my 2 cents.

You guys are missing the point. These are not first time submitters getting lower grades nor are they the new investors. Of course those people will bring down the average but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about regular submitters who have sent thousands and thousands of cards for grading and their gem rates have dropped by 30-40%. That is not overlooking a defect on a card. That is a change in the grading standards.
