I have been enjoying your posts in the baseball forum when the Astros were playing well.

I'm not sure I'd characterize the US purchase of oil from middle eastern nations as globalization. I'd call it capitalism.

Although the US currently imports more oil than it exports, it exports more petroleum products than it imports, resulting in net total export of petroleum.

ETA: Trump is going after China for different reasons, like currency manipulation.

With this administration, it depends on who we're talking about.

Trump sure loves selling weapons to the Saudis. To that end, he helped them coverup their brutal murder of journalist (and father of two U.S citizens) Jamal Khashoggi. Trump boasted to Bob Woodward of having "saved [Saudi dictator Mohammed bin Salman's] a**" for purposes of preserving billions of dollars in military equipment and training deals.

Trump's also really tight with the dictators of Russia, who put bounties on the heads of American soldiers, and North Korea, who tortured American citizen Otto Warmbier to death.

But with our traditional, longtime trusted allies?
No, not so much.

While your last part is true, he's also going after them because they are taking American jobs oversees.

And yes, that's capitalism, I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

My point is are we isolationist or globalists. People have problems that manufacturing is going overseas but haven't said anything about the countries that dictate oil prices.

Has the trade war with China been a success for the US?

No but it should tell you something when 75% of farmers are going to revote for Trump. It means Biden will do even more damage with environmental regulations and higher taxes than Trump's already doing with the Trade War.

Wha???

Farmers need subsidies. Subsidies come from taxes.

How the floop can farmers be against taxes?

All the crane game plastic bubble toys are now made in Jersey.

So it’s been a huge win.

“They” are taking jobs overseas? Like stealing jobs in the middle of the night? Or do you suppose corporate America is sending jobs overseas because they’re cheaper?

Yes... they are going overseas because it's cheaper. I'm not disagreeing lol. I was asking if people have a problem with getting oil from the middle east because they have a problem with manufacturing coming from China.

People have been bitching about OPEC since before The Brady Bunch was in syndication. They just don’t have as much market share now.

Yes because his response made no sense to my comment, sort of like yours. The question was, people that have a problem with manufacturing things in China versus the US, do you have that same problem with oil coming from the middle east?

Fair but if you tax more, there is only a benefit if they are getting more back than is being taxed. If you are putting the taxes back into things other programs instead, they wouldn't benefit as much. Right now Trump has subsidized a lot to somewhat compensate for the damages of the trade war.

Ugh, fine, I guess I'll explain it to you nice and easy, as if you're five.

Sure, this looks like an innocent photo at first glance. I'm sincerely surprised that you aren't picking up on the blatantly obvious and incriminating pieces of evidence this shows. I mean, it's right there in front of you.

First, look at the two "men" on the right. Then look at the two men on the left. Still not seeing it? Jeez. I guess I'll spell it out nice and clean for you.

"Joe Biden" and his lover there are both wearing blue shirts. They are also wearing matching pins on their jackets. Look at their hands. Does it look to you like they're trying a little bit too hard not to grasp each other?

A normal person like yourself might just conclude that Joe Biden has some, umm, tendencies (for lack of a better word). But those of us that are enlightened spot this stuff right away. One day, with practice, you might too.

The conclusion here is obvious. Joe Biden is not and has never been gay. The "man" in the photo is clearly not Joe Biden. But, it looks exactly like him. How can that be? It's simple: what you are seeing there is an android, built and placed by the Russians. Everyone in the know is aware that they've had this technology for decades.

The trickier thing to see is that his lover there is also non-human. How do I know, you might ask? Well again, some of us are aware of things you normal people never get.

Those who have ever been near a certain military installation in the Nevada desert have learned a thing or two. One of those things is that the alien race known as "greys" has always had a thing for cybernetic beings. Some of them go a step further...they get crazy for androids. Obviously "Joe Biden's" lover is a grey, dolled up to cozy itself with the android.

Seriously, I feel like an elementary teacher explaining all of this.

Clearly, the Russians are colluding with the greys to take over our country. Do you not see it?

Mrs. Biden is probably already dead. I hope you've been preparing, because the end is near, my friend. You thought toilet paper was hard to find? Pfffft.

Educate yourself. Please.

That caveat has nothing to do with stating “they are taking jobs”.

It smacks of victimization.

I have no problem with either. Keeps stuff cheaper.

I think others would say they have issues with China because they’re the new boogeyman. Mid East is soooo yesterday.

I highly doubt they only get back what they put in.

One of the 3% farm/training ground owners should be able to let us know for sure.

It's true. If Trump were to win, my prediction is that the United States and North Korea mirror each other (if they don't already).

We finally agree on something? That Trump wants the US to be more isolationist like NK?

Or are you making fun of me...because that would mean you think he’s more into globalization.
