Funny, I shared the same thoughts on my IG story last night. A quarter mil seems really high, no matter how much I love Yordan.

Glad you got it. Been unloading so much stuff lately, I just haven't had time to pay attention to if any of the buyers were from the boards....

Sorry, poorly worded. Tried to imply they made each of those trades.

Sounds like the Yordan one was even "by mistake".

Ouch, that doesn't look good.

Edit: Wow, still on the ground after several minutes. At least he's conscious.

I noticed earlier in the game there was a ball that Pena went way out into left to catch himself. If there's that little trust in Alvarez, he shouldn't be out there.

Taken off the field on a cart. At least it wasn't on a stretcher. Might be a concussion...hopefully nothing worse.

Could be that, or could just be Pena trying to cover too much ground. Incredible play nonetheless. I can't believe he hung on to it.

Looks like concussion at worst. Forearm to the face.

That’s rookie inexperience/brazenness. He should know that a left fielder is coming in for that.

That didn't look good...wonder if he broke any bones in his face or nose area....no bueno.

**He looked pretty good going off the field...just a punch to the face.

After watching it a couple times, that actually really ticks me off. Pena was playing on the second base side and ran all the way into left field. Yordan was trotting in for a routine catch.

Pena is a fantastic fielder, but that was a boneheaded, reckless play on his part.

And Yordan was calling him off, you can see him yelling.

Peña is an absolute moron.

He looked more pissed than anything else. Hoping it's precautionary with today's sensitivity around CTE in sports.

I don't think it's brazen as much as just not trusting Alvarez as a fielder. If it was an issue after the first one, you think they'd have a conversation. But Alvarez seemed OK to defer. That can't happen. Both were OF's balls all the way. Alvarez rakes, but he's a DH.

Yes, it's the OF's ball. Shocking someone is trying to blame him for getting hit...

Every situation needs two to tango.

No way an INF should be that far out on a ball. Period. I admire the hustle, but seriously bad play.

Not exactly a tango when the second person just unexpectedly runs into the fray for no apparent reason. It wasn't even Pena's play had Yordan had trouble. The CF was right there for any easy play as well, but correctly backed off. This one falls completely on Pena. He will surely learn a big lesson here, just hope it isn't at the expense of Yordan's health.

I just don't see it that way. If you look at this play in a vacuum, then yes. But just a few innings earlier you can see Pena going out way into left to catch a routine fly ball. That can't happen in a healthy IF/OF relationship. If you have an IF that isn't OK with his OF catching the easy ones, and an OF that's willing to defer even the easy ones, then that's how things can deteriorate into an unfortunate instance like this one.

More than likely going through concussion protocol.

Yordan called him off. Peña didn't listen and kept going into the outfield, as an infielder.

It really is that simple. Both you and bobo Peña are in the wrong.

Was Pena playing in regular position on the earlier play? He was on the 1B side of the second base here and has zero claim to that ball.
