And that is why graded cards are one of the biggest scams in the hobby.

I wonder if they can fake the greening in the early 90s chrome cards. If not, the green chrome cards might take off.

But regarding the actual bankruptcy: I've always wondered how unnumbered replacements, prototypes, etc., leaked out after Fleer went belly up. Do we know if these cards came from one main source, were hoarded by employees/executives on the way out the door, or were actually stolen and then sold off to various dealers? |

anything with foil on a clear coat would chip-thus whiting out. AAANY white on edges are always too good to be true. A cutter press cuts-downward, the edges are unobtrusive.

I seem to remember seeing images from the auction catalogue, but it was a long time ago...

Could this MJ Rave from 1998-99 SkyBox Thunder be questionable too?

If possible, can anyone teach me how to identify if the Z-Force Rave is authentic or not?
Thanks |

Currently trying to get them to take down the listings... we'll see how far I get.
Here's what I sent regarding the Duncan: ![]()

I had a nice email exchange with PWCC this morning. After reviewing my analysis they have removed both the Duncan Star Rubies and the Jordan Rave from their listings. I'm not sure how they did it but both links now route to an error page. I can't find evidence of the listings ever having existed.
Anyway, props to PWCC for doing the right thing. It's very rare for big auction houses to engage with the community on these sorts of issues, especially when it involves a high profile listing. But the person I spoke to seemed genuinely eager to understand the issue and prevent any fraudulent items from being sold through their service. As someone who has gotten very cynical about this issue, it was refreshing to say the least.

Appreciate the work and dedication on this thread. It saved a lot of people from getting scammed. Thanks Rogermaris and everyone who is looking out for the hobby
What I got out of this - the PMG red and greens are still safe for the most part but there were some unnumbered cards that were numbered. - BGS slabbed cards, especially later slabbed/higher bgs serial # should still raise some level of caution - PWCC and PSA cards will sell for premiums because of the measures they are taking |

Is the Duncan rubies 98/99 on eBay a real or a fake card? It is from Taiwan.

This looks real, as opposed to the other one on ebay. Can someone confirm this?

Does anyone know who bought this card? From what I can tell, it appears to be fake.
This is the first time I've encountered a questionable card from this set so it would be great to get better scans if possible... ![]()
