That's why I never watch ESPN, or go to the site. I take that back. I'll watch the LLWS.

Amazing career. One of the most unheralded players of all time. He should retire with the following numbers.

.311 BA
500+ HR
1800+ RBI
1500+ runs
1200+ walks

To put that into context. The only other players to ever put up 500+ home, 1800+ rbi's, 3000 hits are the following.

Henry Aaron - career .305 avg
Albert Pujols - career .297 avg
Alex Rodriguez - career .295 avg
Eddie Murray - career .287 avg
Willie Mays - career .301 avg
Miguel Cabrera - career .311 avg
Rafael Palmeiro - career .288 avg **edit

only Aaron and Pujols eclipsed 600+ doubles.

And he has a Triple Crown under his belt, which none of those HOF'ers have.

pujols played himself by chasing milestones, he lost .300 batting average in the pursuit of #600, #2000, and #700

Agreed, but if he makes it to 700 HRs, that's way more important than hitting .302 vs. .295

Gave this card away in a trivia giveaway. 5 players have hit at least .311 (Miggys benchmark), 500 home runs, and 1,500 RBI

Ruth, Manny, Foxx, T. Williams, Miggy.

Hell of a ballplayer

with a lot of help. Without the help Bonds hits around 450 homers and 1400 rbis if you take his averages before steroids and apply the averages to his stats with steroids.
