In some places, the morning coffee lines are longer than these. I always wonder why people wait an hour for some weak amusement rides. Compared to some lines, waiting for several hundred dollars worth of cards for 50 bucks is more justifiable.

I went to my Target last time to see if there was a sign regarding 8AM but it was even more pathetic. There was barely any room for sports cards, it was all kids board games. The only sign I saw was a 2 per customer limit.

Between not wanting to wait in line, and looking like a jerk for reselling trading cards at outrageous prices it's a pretty easy pass for me. Once again, knock yourself out. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |

I got to one at about 8:50 am and was around 50 in line. Guys in front were there at 5:30 am. The store allowed 3 items max, 1 per sport max. No Prizm basketball, but Donruss basketball, Prizm football/soccer, tons of Optic football blasters, etc. There were about 30 Optic blasters & Topps Heritage baseball when it was my turn, nothing else. Got one of each and did get a Burrow holo so that was nice.

It's hilarious...7:45am rolled around, they all packed up their camping gear and got all serious. When the store opened, we walked by customer service desk and their jaws dropped.
The campers were upset at how there was nothing. No incentive to camp out...especially if the store does a strict item limit. Not sure why people don't get that. I was happy to get some product at retail for me and my son to rip tonight |

Went to my Target at lunch and there was nothing but S1 hangers left.
I think I kinda like the Friday 8am, thing. It's good to know that they stocked just 4 hours ago instead the night before. |

We had lines of 50 people deep. As I am not insane I did not partake. This means that I 100% can't get retail until the market collapses. I did wander in at noon and of course it's totally wiped. Shrug

Started at 1 per person walmart today with my brother, each got an NBA prizm hanger. 35-40 people in line by the time the store opened at that walmart. Stopped at a target on the way back and there were 3 people outside, figured we'd give it a shot. No advertising of the 8 AM rule anywhere so it was people assuming that it would be stocked. It was, and by 8 AM there were probably 15 people. We got 2 EPL Prizm megas each so I'd consider that a good day. Sounds like most targets in my area are starting the Friday 8 AM rule next week.

They waited 12 hours? If someone wants/needs it that bad I guess they can have it. If I'm really desperate I'll just pay 10 bucks over retail for baseball. Thankfully I don't touch basketball.

I'd say the majority of people waiting for hours and hours are use to waiting. They just happen to be waiting for cards to flip instead of sneakers or ps5s.

We had about 15 in line. I was first. Got to Walmart about 6, and it opens at 7. Number 2 and 3 in line were the two guys I see at target all the time that get all the good stuff. They confirmed that they pay off the rep, but wouldn't tell me how much. It was 1 of each sku per person. I got 1 prizm hanger, 1 donruss blaster, and some pokemon for my son. It was some kind of fates etb. Easter bunny will bring it. VERY light stock. 10 prizm hangers, 4 donruss blasters, 2 Parkhurst hockey blasters, 1 prizm soccer blaster, 12 heritage blasters, a bunch of S1, and some pokemon. Donruss blaster had 2 trout rapture inserts. An unleashed and something else. Also a Pache Auto. Hit it big in prizm. Pulled a Zion Silver, Anthony edwards Rookie, and A Deni Orange ice. I thought I was nuts going an hour early when it is cold out. These lines of 50+ are insane. I guess stores that get a big stock. Found out our target was stocked Wednesday afternoon. Missed it.

My first Target, I got there about 7:40 and they had started selling early, about 12 people left in line, they weren't letting people get back in line so I don't think it hurt me at all that they started early. Nothing too great left, they were saying 3 pokemon items and three sports items per person total. I just ended up with 2 heritage Mega boxes, and 2 Shining fates Pikachu V boxes, that got me over the $100, so I got $25 off with Target circle. Since I was out of there before 8 I ran over to another Target, there had to be at least 50 people in line at 8:00 AM before the line started moving. they did have about 15 Prizm Basketball Blasters. Their limit was 1 per sku and 3 total items. There was opening Day, heritage, some Pokemon, and Series 1 left when I got up there, I just bought the last Hidden Fates Tin left, 1 more Shining Fates Pikachu V box, and 1 Heritage blaster and got over the $50 threshold to get $10 off.

Had to make a quick pit stop for milk and went to Target at 8:10 (no intention of getting cards) and saw 3 people lined up waiting for shelf stock... there's absolutely zero chance I'm ever going to wait in line just for a chance at series 1 packs and MAYBE some hoops. It's just not worth it to me.
And seeing the picture of 50 people lined for a release up just makes me cringe - last year none of these people would've given two shits about cards. At this point, I really don't care anymore. I'm pretty much done until this thing blows up. |

Well, when prizm blasters hit, you are looking at $900 worth of product for $60. When megas show up it will be $2,500 to $3000 worth for $150. That's worth an hour wait for me.

MOst places are going to a max of 1 per SKU per trip in line, and Megas wont be selling for a grand resell. And the megas will be gone by the time the guy that got there an hour before open get to choose.

Epiphany I had from my old days of grinding poker. There's way more 'life money' in being the whale at the table than the shark.
Just make a lot at your day job and buy stuff on ebay or blowout if you want it that bad. |

Went to Target on my lunch break around noon to see if anything was left. Card section was filled with TONS of Series 1 hangers and fat packs. No tins, no Donruss baseball or any other sport left. I grabbed my 3 hangers and got out of there.

A lot of heritage buyers probably buy it for the reason I do. It's a product at msrp and we are happy to see it. I doubt people are happy to pay $19.99 plus sales tax to sell something for $25 minus selling costs
