Well, ya, any team with a top 5 player is.

The point I was making is that his bench didn't blow it for him, they actually outscored the other team by 2 points while he was sitting.

And as far as analytics go (which I'm not sure the example I gave really is one, at the very least it wasn't at all advanced), many can be cherry picked to make a certain argument (especially by people who don't understand them), but across the board some can be used to tell a pretty good story of performance.

For example, here are the top analytics for Luka and his league rank:
VORP: 3rd
Box +/-: 2nd
Win Shares: 5th


To me, those are probably the most important, and they paint Luka as a top 2-5 player in terms of production this year, which I think I would agree with.

Luka's footwork is probably the best in the game. Hence why he doesn't need crazy athleticism to get his shot off. He anticipates his defender's next move before they do.

Luka and Harden have shown us that footwork, body control, the ability to stop and start, and just general floor IQ are more important than anything else. The two best scorers in the league are doughy... go figure. Harden is virtually unguardable... you just need to hope he misses, and Luka isn’t far behind. Crazy that a second year player is this good. It’s a good time to be a fan of the sport.

Boston has a rabid sports fan base. They are very into their sports teams. I wonder if that has anything to do with Dallas troubles winning at home. Probably not but it's strange to me they're a better team on the road. Usually playing before a home crowd brings a slight advantage.

Yeah i was thinking about that also. It's probably a cultural thing for that area. Dallas has had some good teams over the years with Dirk but it was never their favorite sport. Boston fans support all of their teams pretty much equal. If Luka can bring them a championship that might change things.

Boston only has one team in each major sport also so that probably plays a huge role in not dividing loyalty. Texas has several different teams in each sport. Boston teams actually have the entire North East region not just Massachusetts.

Guys like Curry, Giannis, Harden are established stars that have been with the same franchise for 5-10 years.

You'd think most fans who love them already have their jersey, so their jersey sales should actually decrease.

Are there really that many fans who have 10 Curry jerseys who tell themselves "you know what I need? 11 Curry jerseys."
