This is nothing new. The left (or their supporters) have been boycotting, harassing, intimidating, and pretty much trying to ruin the life of anyone, or business, that publicly portrays or supports beliefs that contradict theirs.

As to the bolded, this is what needs to be overcome by anyone wanting more power than our system allows. There have been people in the past that have overcome similar safeties in their nations.

For those that think the US is somehow uniquely protected against craziness, we are not. We claim democracy is our experiment, yet historically many democracies existed before ours. We claim freedom, yet half the world is free. We claim checks and balances, yet many governments have had protections in place only to succumb to disaster anyway.

I guess what I'm saying is vigilance is required. As Ben Franklin once said, "You have a republic, if you can keep it."

There's plenty of intolerance to go around. Both sides are guilty.

I really don't know what to think of our political landscape. The past two elections I haven't had the mind set of "who can do the job of president the best". I've been thinking more along the lines of "who will cause our country the least damage".

This stuff drives me insane and shows how stupid the social media movements can be. I'm a Biden voter and I can't tell you how many times I told left leaning people that their fake Home Depot boycott was full of it. Nobody takes the 60 seconds or so to do some research before clicking share. It's dumb and drives me up the wall.
