Rip cards are definitely more fruitful this year thanks to the removal of the triple rip boxloaders.

All those stained glasses have filtered down into the single and double rips.

Otherwise, trying to track down a Brooklyn Back Puckett plus any of his other 1/1's (hopefully his Wood Mini will have his name on it) so if anyone here happens to pull any of those feel free to reach out. . .

Finished the case I got on Topps presale. Total cost was around $1750 after tax.

I will do a detailed breakdown in the case breaks. But a summary:

Less than a handful of cards short of 3 master sets.
Lots of base chrome
Lots of silver foil...a little less than half the set.
12 Refractors
16 Silver Filigree
12 Chrome Mini
1 No Number (Kat Dennings)
1 Black Filigree /10 Felix Hernandez
1 Gold Filigree /50 Aaron Judge
1 Gold Filigree relic /50 Mark Long (surprised how much this sold for...$50 and I may have undersold)
9 Autos (best was Chuck Ragan) 3 numbered
3 Rip Cards (Kim, Arraez, Mayo all out of 199...ripped the Arraez and got an Acuna extended mini)

I had fun opening. I don't really agree with most of the criticism of the product other than the price. 3 rip cards is cool..and I don't think it devalues them...due to the weight and consruct of the cards, as well as the STRONG propensity of the new wave of collectors to rip (check out Facebook Sports cards nonsense group or reddit to see just how obsessed), there just wont be a ton of these cards remaining unripped. I shredded the Arraez because...its Arraez, and it had a wierd indent on the back and I didn't want to deal with returns if the card inside was damaged...it wasnt.

I did dislike the lack of full size inserts...I always liked those extra odd ball cards. Apparently no one else did. The mini inserts are kind tough but I like them as well. I also liked hitting so many autos, even if most are meh rookies. That said, there was three boxes in the case with only relics as the hits. People continue to gripe about this after at least a decade and a half of this being the situation and I don't get it.

I should net around $900 on the stuff I'm selling..more with a little luck. I'm keeping a master set, all the minis and inserts except the A&G backs and the black borders, all the autos except one, and all the relics except 2. I consider this case to be below average, though not rock bottom.

Bottom line:
Pros: Lots of autos, extra RIP card, love the mini inserts, I like the numerous numbered cards, some of the other add ons are cool as is the rare stuff I didnt hit.

Cons Price is about $300 too much on a case ($15 a box too high), too many scrub rookie autos, cases seem very hot or very cold, resulting in a high priced gamble.

The other day I heard from someone who frequents the shop more than I do that a Sandy Koufax auto was pulled from a box at the LCS, and now they’ve had the nerve to bump the price this week from $199 a box plus tax to $209.99 plus tax.

Thank you. Haven't really collected since the 80s/90s. Got back into it recently and been opening alot of different sports and seems like there is alot of junk out there and guess all the NIL's don't help. It was actually nice to pull a decent hit. Value aside, I was more excited to pull a Darryl Strawberry base as he was my fav player growing up.

Its crazy...lots of cases don't have one. I haven't seen more than a handful of cases with 2. Production is way sky high. Of course more ripping than anytime in recent history too (check out reddit, discord, facebook if you disagree with this...noobs love this product and love shredding it including the rip cards).

Just a quick follow-up to my previous post about this year's Wood Minis. . .

Based on the Wood Minis I've seen listed/posted so far, it appears that cards 1-350 didn't get the separate coat of black ink on the front during the printing process and, aside from no name on the front, look a little lighter without much contrast. However, it looks like the 50 rip card mini exclusives must have gotten the full ink treatment and look totally fine.

Anyway, not sure if it's surprising the printers missed that but, at least to me, is kind of disappointing to see if you're chasing any of the "base" Wood Minis this year. . .

How many Washington’s do you have and are you talking about the Triple rip Washington or the dual with Washington?

I didn't get one in my case....didn't get any no-numbers either (unless they didn't have them this year but I think they did!). Overall my case was very strange. Only got 1 master set (missing Harmon Killebrew and Alex Bregman from the Sweet Victory Insert set in the 2nd master), got no Bazooka's, no-numbers, chrome mini parallels or chrome parallels. Also got shorted two hits overall and only got 2 Rip cards when I've seen many get 3. On the other side, I got an Ohtani in almost every category...chrome, mini chrome, refractor, etc. and got an Ohtani mini out of a Rutschman Rip card. Plus I got the Wilson/Rooker Dual Auto Relic and then an Albert Pujols auto /50. Definitely a "case" of all or nothing! Overall, with the two big autos, I still probably needed another big hit to make money but I should do pretty well considering I got the case using COMC credit....which isn't like real money

They printed this stuff too the moon. I can’t wait to see hobby odds. Compared to previous years I’m sure Rubin 10x this stuff
