IF Biden loses, where do the Dems go? Further left or try to reign it in and move (stay) more toward the center?

Fact. I know lots of businesses in Philly doing this. Many are still recovering after getting looted to the point of temporary closure for a second time in six months. RIP Philly.

I wonder how many people are standing back and standing by. I wonder how many businesses are boarding up worried about a Biden win.

CNN reporting tonight....

Biden win - "Peaceful celebrations"
Trump win - "Peaceful protests"

Both as buildings burn in the background.

Unless there's a Trump flag somewhere in view.

Businesses that are boarding up aren’t worried about who wins. They are worried about the reaction from the left no matter who wins.

My general sense is that businesses are concerned about the election just because and are expecting some level of chaos no matter what... but I don't really get into politics with them. If they bring it up, I just listen. I think it's common sense at this point that a Trump win will result in more destruction than a Biden win. But I've posted a lot of things that were common sense that get challenged in here by people who like to argue for the sake of it... like that one guy who went on some tangent about lumber prices after I said the construction industry leans right. That's the beauty of this thread... you can be stupid anonymously and no one will ever know.

Have to reign it in. Theres a reason why I voted Obama in 2008.

Early vote now closed ... will have two extremely small updates before election day and then the republicans need the floodgates to open. In turnout; needs to be R+4 when it's all said and done or my level of confidence for Florida goes in the tank.
To give you guys an idea of how it's goin so far .... 8am update. GOOD.

Dem turnout in Marion county at this moment 63.35%
Rep turnout in Marion county at this moment 64.64%

2.60% gain for Dems
4.49% gain for Reps

(+3,200 votes in the first hour).

Good experience this morning. Polls opened at 6:00 in Missouri, so the wife and I got up and were at our polling station by 5:20. We were about 15th in line and got right in once things opened up.

Things started getting busy around 5:45 and when we were exiting at 6:15, there were probably 400+ people in line.

Felt fortunate to get in and out so quickly, as there were far less booths set up this year compared to 2018 due to COVID. Gonna be a long wait for a lot of folks today. Hope everyone that is voting in person today gets through quickly!

First hour in FL; Republicans outvoted Dems by 37,000 votes (Miami Dade not included, they're lagging). 11 hours to go.

So happy this election cycle is over and regardless of who you voted for, please try and tell me Trump having Lil Pump come on stage at a rally in Grand Rapids and introducing him as "Little Pimp" isn't the funniest thing you've heard in a long time. Can't imagine how confused those poor rallygoers were in that moment.

I don't remember coming across a single post in this thread that I would consider to be off limits. I don't think any of us know enough about each other to even hit that point.

...

On a side note, does anyone know if polling places have port-a-potties? I'm having a debate over whether or not I grab a PSL before heading to the local polling place, but don't want to have to pee the entire time. I'm expecting to be in line for 3 hours. Maybe that's way off, but that's my guess. I bet Chapmans has a graph for polling wait times. My headphones are charged so that I don't have to listen to anyone.

Absolutely correct. They will riot, destroy businesses, and destroy cities and then blame Trump for it.

Red team outvoting blue team in ALL COUNTIES in FL. Amazing.

West Palm is a massacre to start the morning. Republicans +5,000 votes the first hour. and they're outnumbered 1.5 to 1 in the county.

Gotta keep it goin.

I lived in a college town during Obama's first election. I stood in line from 3 until 7:30 to vote because of all the college kids. Sucked. I moved 10 years ago to a small township. I haven't had to wait more than one person every year since. We only have 6 or 7 voting booths. I'll be interested to see turnout, major Trump country.
