Grabbed these a little while ago. All well below the poverty line.

The MJ is pretty cool and from one of all time favorite products.

Asking the same thing myself. I had forgotten about the test refractors until seeing your Lottery Prize post on the previous page. Absolutely lost my ish when I saw it so cheap.

So many sick refractors and 90s cards on the past few pages... makes my bird twitch.

yeah that Shaq is worth, conservatively, 10x the maximum "poverty" pickup that is pure insanity.

I'm on a poverty budget right now and scooped it for $25. The card isn't poverty, but the price I paid was. Should I remove it from the thread?

The gold static background on the 1997-98 Fleer Ultra gold medallions in post 5627 looks soooo nice. Love that set.

Definitely don't remove it. Poverty is based on the price you paid as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. Poverty is all in what you paid, not what they're worth.

yeah it counts. I found a 97-98 Rodman SPx gold in a box with a ton of other $3-$5 90s stuff. Traded a bunch of low-end stuff I didn't care about and paid $30 for a big stack of refractors and inserts.

Got home and turned it over...it was the Grand Finale. I sold it for $800 and that was like 5 years ago lol. Poverty gold can be struck when you least expect it!

Exactly that’s part of the fun of this thread. Seeing the incredible cards we all get without spending a fortune.

I missed this one, what's the story behind it? Pretty neat.

I don't think I've posted these yet, the first one is a tough card, Greek Joan card. The other two are brutally difficult, McDonald's French variants, player collectors know the deal on these.

I feel like international/oddball stuff- particularly for 90s player collectors- is easily the most frustrating poverty-level stuff to pick up. Like you're stoked you finally found it, but you knew it would be cheap at the same time so why was it so damn hard to track down? It's almost as if the time waiting and effort digging should make it more expensive, but you still would rather get it cheap. I dunno, just causes me some cognitive dissonance I guess

In any event, I've had some recent Mitch pickups for this thread. First, a no-brainer modern auto, less than $7 delivered and /25. I feel like Spectra is the epitome of "I'll just buy the singles" as a product. Always overpriced, but some really nice looking stuff comes out frequently

Got these two for a combined $28 delivered, both are the highest BGS-graded examples. I like picking up nice graded Richmonds when I can so I don't have to spend the money to get them graded myself!

Honestly not 100% sure why someone graded the Maximum Metal. I love the insert but it's low-end even by my standards, and I want all my $10+ Mitches graded haha. Yay poverty finds!

Pretty excited about this one... I'm going to consider it Abe Saperstein's rookie card!

I honestly don't have a clue what I paid for this, but know it was less than $10. I have a list of every Ron Harper transaction I've made since 2012 and this card is not on the list, which means I somehow managed to get it pre e-bay. As Abra said, these are incredibly hard to find and I've not seen another one listed in the last 7 years.

While everyone is out there paying $125 for a raw silver prizm, I'll gladly pay $22 dlvd for an on card RC auto with an image and headline from a highlight game of his rookie year. This hobby confuses me.
