Last year Luka had some magic in the closing moments of games. This year he and his teammates have had some rough closing moments. Way too early to claim he's not a closer since it's only year 2 and he's actually had some amazing clutch moments in his 2 year career.

Uh, no. Luka took him to the basket a number of times. Refs missed his goaltending in the first half. And the guy is the reigning back to back defensive POY. How many players in the league do you think are comfortable squaring up against him?

Khal, some just don’t get it for one reason or another. I have never seen so many desire for someone to fail as with the hot players like Luka, Zion, Acuna and Soto in baseball, and Mahomes and Lamar in football. I am not going to say they don’t like the players, but the kid is 20. I was not a “closer” at 20 either (hehehe). Enjoy his talent and five years from now he will likely be one of the faces of the NBA. I also know there is also jealousy and envy mixed in to some of these comments because they slept on Luka.

I don't fault the guy for missing the shots at end of game. I just haven't liked his overall demeanor at the end of games and how he is shying away from taking the shots in the last couple minutes.

He's an excellent player and one of the most exciting young players in the game but I simply do not rate him as high as most. That's just my opinion and doesn't mean I Want the guy to fail or am jealous which are always stupid comments by posters on here. I see him right now as more of a Harden type that the elite superstars like Kawhi, Giannis, and Lebron. There's also only so much $ we each have to spend and I'd rather own Zion now and even buy Tatum as I feel he's undervalued based on current sales.

I like Tatum too but i don't think he will ever have as much control of the game as Luka, LeBron, Giannis, Harden and a few other players. The guys that get the most hobby love are the players that have the ball in their hands most of the game. Luka hasn't had as many big moments at the end of the games this year for whatever reasons but last year he had quite a few. Zion hasn't shown me enough yet for me to be a true believer. I haven't seen enough of a sample size to take that leap of faith yet. I think he has great potential, but i would rather take the wait and see approach than to jump in at astronomical prices.

Two comments:

1) you obviously have never watched a Mavs game, he’s almost taken too many of the last minute, last sec shots
2) Tatum isn’t even the 2nd best player on his team

Rick needs to start taking Luka out earlier in the 3rd and getting him back in earlier in the 4th. Would like to see the starting 5 get ~8 minutes in the 4th, rather than the 5-6 they’re currently getting. The offense needs it. And don’t slow the pace so much in the closing minutes. It’s throwing them off.
